Pushed by a Cast Member

A little taken back right now. Parade ended.. they pulled up the line and the park guests were following. I tried to grab a quick photo of the “see ya real soon” and the back of the float. Suddenly i feel something crash into my back. I’m an average size guy.. i workout, whatever. I was pushed to the right.

The cast member goes “stay to your right” then proceeds to stare me down as he walks by.. even after he was a few yards away. It was to the point that a guy next to me goes “oh boy he was flexin on you.”

Not a huge deal, just not what you’d expect from a cast member. I take part of the blame. I tried to grab a photo - thought the parade was over. It was, but i guess there were still Cms passing. If he just nudged me and kept moving - fine - but to stare me down like that was a little off putting

Sounds like a good candidate for a United flight attendant..

I would have complained to a manager.

Something "crashing into your back" sounds like borderline assault. At the very least, I get the CM's name and expect an explanation from management and filed complaint -unless they want to hear from my attorney and my witnesses. No excuse for this.

Or maybe you were in an unsafe area and he was trying to get you out of the way

Are you sure he didn't accidentally walk into you? If you didn't see him maybe he didn't see you either. As you can't really say what happened (besides the weird stare-down) I'd let it go.

Oh it’s not worth pursuing.. just had to vent

I would've got his name and complained. You would get some compensation, at least.

Grand scheme of things.. It was a misunderstanding on my part. He didn’t have to push me to the side the way he did.. and I would have shrugged It off but It bothered me that he stared me down.

For what? Even the OP doesn't know if the Cast Member pushed him or walked into him. They didn't see! Getting compensation for a stare down seems very extreme.

He believes the CM may have pushed him. If Disney really wants to know for sure, they probably have a video camera that filmed it.

Seems like a waste of time (to me) to go expect them to look at camera footage when no one is sure anything wrong happened, besides a weird look. "Excuse me, a CM may or may not have pushed me. I'm not sure, I had my back turned so I'm not sure if it was a push or if we accidentally collided. Can you look at the camera footage to be sure?"

It would be different if there was some sort of injury.

If you ever think that a CM actually pushed you, be sure to ignore it then. And you're right, if there was no actual injury, then it didn't happen. Sheesh.

I'm sure Disney doesn't really want to know for sure. At best, they'd give the OP a fast pass or two and that would be the end of it. Not only does the OP not really know for sure what happened, but the OP also doesn't have the CM's name.

Just because something out of the ordinary occurs, it doesn't mean compensation is always due. I'd rather go on about my vacation, just as OP has done, than waste time making a frivolous complaint.

Frivolous?? My god. If a CM ever laid a finger on me, his job would be history.

If you ever think that a CM actually pushed you, be sure to ignore it then. Geez.

The OP was't sure what happened. If you go to Guest relations and want them to look for the footage at that point you are betting your time that something happened. Like I said, it would be different if there was an injury. But me, I would feel a fool and really regret the time wasted if I made them look for the video and it was accidental. I also wouldn't look for compensation for something that left me uninjured and mildly annoyed. My time at the park is precious and I wouldn't waste it looking to get something for a relatively small incident.

You're jumping to conclusions. The OP himself has admitted that he was in the way and unsure if the supposed "push" from the CM was intentional or an accident or a "sir you need to move" type of action. How can one file a complaint when they aren't even sure what happened? Therefore, yes, it would be frivolous.

If there's a chance he got pushed by a CM, that's assault and it's very serious. All I'm saying is that he should have pursued it instead of shrugging it off. I would take the CM's name down and ask Disney to look into it.

I don't agree. I think labling it assault is over-reaching.

Overreaching based upon what observation exactly? If he was in fact pushed in the manner he suggests, it's assault by definition, plain and simple. He also has reason to believe it was intentional. Unacceptable anywhere, from anyone, but perhaps particularly disappointing as a guest of company who has a certain duty of care.
