Hello!

We're off in 9 days now  with our kids (just turned 3, and 4 nearly 5!)

My question is are they likely to need a pushchair when we're away? I'm not much fancying the idea of carting ours around as well as everything else so can you rent them, and are doubles available?

TY in advance! :thumbsup2

I'd say that your 3 year old and possibly the 4 year old will need a pushchair at some stage. DLRP is an awful lot of walking especially for very little legs.

You can hire pushchairs at DLRP although they do not recline at all and therefore may not be suitable for naps etc. They also do not have double pushchairs.

They also require a deposit of 150 euros if you want to take them out of the park, even if you are simply going from one park to the other!

I think your children will need a buggy of some sort as it is a lot of walking. Our children were 3 and 7 when we went and we hired a buggy and the 3 year old definately needed it. The hire ones are quite big and we often managed to put the 3 year old on the 7 year olds knee.

We are going again in feb and are planning to bring our own this time - we have worked out that it would be cheaper to buy a basic buggy here and bring it than hire one out each day.

My DD is nearly 3 and loves to walk and hates her pushchair, but i will be taking ours as its a lot cheaper then hiring the ugly ones from DLP etc.

Hi, we're taking a three wheeler for DD(1) and a Mclaren buggy for DD(4). Even though DD(4) hasn't been in a pushchair since she was 3, it's soooo much easier to push her around than have her get tetchy. Last time we went, we hired a pushchair for our eldest DD who was 4 at the time. They are rigid and uncomfortable - I thought a buggy that reclines and has a raincover would make for a much happier child.:thumbsup2

i think we were lucky then, as we didnt take a pushchair and we didnt need to hire one either!!!
mind u - ds1 (4 1/2 when we went) is used to alot of walking anyhow, and ds2 (2 1/2 when we went) hates his pushchair and screams when in it!!!!! we do do alot of walking at home, and i guess we didnt do huge amounts whilst we were there..... was only our last day when we were at the park from 8am til after candleabration at 7pm did our youngest actually fall asleep, and we just carried him back to the hotel!!
i think u know ur own children, and if its easier to take a pushchair, do that. i just knew that ours wudnt use one, as ds1 hasnt used one since 2 1/2.... all a matter of preference (and we get more space in the car for gifts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!):goodvibes

Hmmm - I had planned to take just the one puschair and hire another (free with AP) but reading this I think we may need to take our double. I guess it's somewhere to stash all the bits we'll no doubt have to carry around! :)

I came back yesterday I took a buggy for our 3yrs old and hired one for the 4yrs old. When we handed it in to go to the other park they gave us a receipt and we then picked up another one in the other park free of charge. Its 7.50 (euro)for the day and we definatley needed it
