PUSH isnt being saved! He is gone!

I am so saddened to hear that PUSH is now gone :furious: It seems like Disney continues to cut back or eliminate perks :headache:

It isn't about that. It's a contract renewal problem between Disney and Real Simple Ideas (PUSH's owners) apparently over some unspecified intellectual property language in the contract. At the moment the language on both sides sounds like negotiation leverage so I wouldn't rule out their coming to agreement at some point. Negotiation is mostly a game of leverage.

Wasn't there an identical act in AK? I remember bump[ing into a talking garbage can (named Pika??) in Conservation Station near the petting zoo a few years ago.

Regardless, maybe someone else owns him but for the love of money can't Imagineering come up with a replacement? Where's our Lucky the dinosaur?? Where's our Muppet mobile lab?

Pipa. Plus Wes Palm, the talking palm tree at AK. And then there was the talking drinking fountain outside of Mouse Gears in Epcot.

That's the one! thanks Dan! For a minute I thought maybe I had dreamed it LOL!

So were those all owned by the same outside contractor as PUSH? If so, they were not cut because of a contract renewal dispute, because the same contract language would have applied to all. In that case, whether they were owned by that contractor or were separate Disney products, the only reason they no longer appear is $$$.

And no, 'profit' is not a dirty word. But killing the goose that lays the golden eggs is just plain stupid. Part of why people go to Disney is the sum of all the little extras - the 'magic'. Keep taking that away and in the long run Disney Parks will lose everything.

If you like your trash can you can keep your trash can...PERIOD! ok well apparently not

I saw the Ziti sisters in Epcot the other day. When are they scheduled to leave?

Anyone have any idea why Disney has so much trouble with contract negotiations? Seems like we have lost a lot of really good entertainment due to this reason or excuse or whatever!!

They're cheap and controlling and they believe they are invincible.

Sorry, but it really is as simple as that. That's why they lost out on Harry Potter.

Disney's fully aware that most future guests in its target demographic have no idea there was a PUSH, and don't care. Gives them leverage in the negotiation. They could say, fine, if the owner didn't like the contract language, he didn't have to sign the contract.

I'm sure he could do fine contracting his talking can to conventions, meetings and conferences, not to mention other theme parks, so it may not be that great a loss to him, either.

Pipa and Wes Palm haven't been around in years.

Their last performance was Sunday Feb. 9.

That 'magic' is especially important now that they have rolled out FP+ and the stand-by lines are super long all the time.

ITA. I actually remember when there was a Steel Drum band at adventureland and we had entertainment (Bands and singers) all over the MK. They need to bring these back.

Sad to see PUSH go - shame the two sides couldn't come to an agreement. We will miss him - he always had some great guest interactions.

I know. This is really dissapointing. PUSH was one of those things that made Disney extra special.

I know others have said it - but I hope this isn't a trend. I'm starting to be concerned that it is though.....

Sadly, I think it is another example of Disney's focus on the first-time visitor.
