PUSH isnt being saved! He is gone!

Odd that the Sentinel did not name a source when quoting "PUSH isn't going anywhere", just generic "Disney spokesperson". Have we seen an official statement from Disney on the subject, one way or another?

Regardless, PUSH was one of those little pieces of magic that was, to my family, infinitely more special than any dance party will ever be.

You didn't see him every time, and when you did, you didn't always get to talk to him before he scooted off. But when you did garner his attention, it was pretty fricking awesome. Quality over quantity.

I doubt we will ever know what happened behind the scenes, but here's hoping things get resolved in our favor.

I smell another petition coming on.......

We saw him just the other day. Some kids surrounded him and would not let him move around. They just blocked him in. Their parents thought it was hilarious, and the kids were out of control. It's sad he's gone, and it's frustrating that this is our last memory of him. :furious:

We loved PUSH! On our first trip to Disney, Push sang "Happy Birthday" to my son. It was priceless and magical experience when we realized that it was the trash can singing to him. Those are some of my favorite pictures. PUSH will definitely be missed.

I think Disney needs to be careful moving forward. With the ever increasing crowds, the outrageous prices for onsite resorts and the difficulty of riding multiple popular rides without a 50 minute wait, they should be looking for ways to insert magic, not take it away.

Little bits of fun like Push and Remy the rat at Chefs de France are what makes up for the things that irritate. They're beginning to look more and more like a publicly held corporation seeking to please the stockholders instead of that magical place where dreams come true.

This whole "contractor" thing is ridiculous. Who was under contract, the guy who operated him? Big deal. Hire someone else. Don't tell me the actual trash can itself didn't belong to Disney, or that they couldn't use another trash can and change his name.

The whole thing is typical, as of late, Disney silliness.

I hate to see another piece of entertainment gone. Watching kids play with PUSH was so much fun - or even adults.

We keep losing entertainment at each of the parks. This makes the day special. Just over the last year or two we no longer have

Miyuki - candy artist in Japan
4 for a Dollar - performed before beauty & the beast
Village Beatniks - AK - near FlameTree
New band at UK - even though they are really good
Ziti Sisters - Italy
Dragon Acrobats - China (replaced)
and on and on and on.

It seems that we have less & less options for casual entertainment. DISNEY - listen up and keep the extra magic a part of the parks.

And you know all of that for sure????

Even if Disney could just hire someone else, there would still be an uproar. Many park visitors get upset if the voice of something, or the spiel, is changed. TTA and Monorail ring a bell?

I have been out of touch for a while and haven't done any real planning for WDW in a while either so some of these things are news to me. I almost cried when I found out Miyuki is gone. We saw her each and every time we visited and my children(now teens) still talk about how amazing she is. We remember when Four for a Dollar was around and they were also amazing and just that little something extra that makes Disney so special. But what happened with the Chinese acrobats? Are they gone too? Disney is so wonderful and that's why we go back again and again and again...I just wish they'd leave some of these unique and special entertainers in place. They are a big part of the "magic":(

Seems like Disney has a PR nightmare on their hands. Good thing it wasn't a major character that would attract major media. Perhaps Disney hired someone from SeaWorld to work their PR dept? :confused3

Um, you realize the voice was made to sound that way, correct? Like Crush. Do you think it's the exact same person working Turtle Talk 365 days a year? Or, do you think Billy Crystal works at the Magic Kingdom at Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor?

And what do you mean, "do I know this for sure?" Know what for sure?

Perhaps he was trying to get hazard pay. I can't say I blame him.

It's pretty sad when parents let their kids behave this way.

Aw, man. I'm glad we saw him this past visit -- it was the first time I'd bumped into him. (Not literally.)

This is incredibly sad. Through all of this madness the last year or two with FP+, avatarland, you name it, I have rolled with the punches and not been concerned. Until this. Push was my absolute favorite entertainment act in the parks. And just with everything surrounding how this was handled, whether the sources are correct or not, disney must have seen how this was playing out around the web and still hasn't said anything really to address it. This is the best way I can explain how this is hitting me:

"I'm not mad, I'm dissapointed." :sad2:

And that, is the worst of all.

:thumbsup2 Couldn't agree more.

On the Podcast Pete was quick to say what a PR nightmare SeaWorld had on their hands (self created mind you). Now this is obviously not on that scale but they will eventually have to answer the public if they continue to operate like this. Loyal fans won't stand for cuts, lies, no explanations and the continual increase in prices.

That tweet is the very essence of every thing that is wrong with WDW right now. We will continue to provide entertainment, such as the dance party in Tomorrowland. Yeah, um - That sucks. They are SO out of touch with what the guests want.

The new motto at WDW should be "Disney taketh away...Disney no replace it."

Never happened. If there's one thing that has always rang true at WDW it's that Disney NEVER admits they were wrong or that anything is their fault. Just like in that tweet, they will continue to make a joke out of things by telling the guests that "fabulous entertainment" like the dance party in Tomorrowland still exists.

I've said it before - I am just one person and my family is just 1 family. However, we are as die-hard as Disney fans get. However, this year, we are not renewing our Disney Annual Passes, but are renewing our Universal Annual Passes. I would bet good money, there are many other families like ours, and if this trend continues (and it sure seems like it will - In fact, it seems like it will only get worse), then more and more families will follow suit.

Bottom line - Disney thinks they are invincible. They are not.
