Purple Re-Ad for ride breakdowns

We were the first group on Peter Pan one morning and it broke down while we were at the volcano, they eventually turned on all the lights and the CM came by and made a joke about us being able to see the "science fair project volcano" -- she was right it really isn't that impressive with the lights on... Anyway, after a couple of minutes they were able to cycle all those stuck on the ride through with the lights on, and when we exited they handed each boat a Purple Fast Pass. I didn't take a picture, but it was a slip of paper with the CM dating it and initialing it and saying what ride broke down and giving a number to call to verify that allowed 6 people on any ride in both parks (except Toy Store Mania which was clearly highlighted and very disappointing as when you get a free ride pass on any ride card that is clearly what shot into my mind). Anyway, since I was with a group of 3 families (mini-reunion) we had three of these which although it said it could only be used by 6, the CMs issuing them and the ones who later took them told us we could use it for our whole group if needed (gotta love Disney and their customer service!). Talk about a jump start on collecting Fast Passes for the day!

Well we used one of them on Space Mt. with all the adults later that day, and wouldn't you know it Space Mt. broke down while we were on it and they had to cycle us out, and this time they gave every individual rider one for the incovenience (we had 5 on the ride). So we ended up with 5 more of these get on any ride free cards. That was the best day of the whole trip. We finally wised up and used one on Nemo (simply walked to the front of the line handed it to a CM who had us stand off to the side and got us on the next group of subs, total wait time of 2 minutes for Nemo!). We still collected Fast Passes throughout the day and since we couldn't end up using all the FP (which we collected 9 at a time), we ended up "gifting" them to groups standing in long ride lines. We gave a family of 5 and a family of 4 FP to Indy when they were at the back of a 60 minute wait line, a group of 6 and group of 3 Soarin' FP at the back of a 35 minute wait line, Grizzly, Tower of Terror, etc, etc... The best was the fact that we collected a bazillion Buzz FP and just kept walking over there anytime we were near it and would hand out 5-10 to people waiting in line.

Anyway, thought I'd pass on the Purple Fast Pass experience, and am curious if anyone else has received and used those, and if anyone has a picture of one (didn't even think of it at the time, but it would be nice to have a picture for the old scrapbook of these).

I believe what you had was a "Re-Ad". It is different than a FP. CM's will issue them if guests waited a long time for a ride and it broke down. They are front of the line passes for any ride, usually. They change the color all the time so people can't use them fraudulantly. I've heard they showed up on ebay. A few years ago they were blue, then green and they issued orange when Nemo opened. Some colors exclude certain rides. I haven't seen one in a long time.

Couldn't remember what they were called, thanks for letting me know. I do know they made that day the best ever! I just thought it was ironic that we got one on Peter Pan (it is always very cool to ride a dark ride with the lights on and see how they do it) and used it on Space Mt. only to have it break down (talk about an interesting sight, try going through Space Mt. with the lights on!). We thought they might be jinxed after that...

our group recieved 5 individual any ride fast passes on my last trip, the CM said it was her magic moment for the day, I didn't take a picture but I believe someone from our group still has one laying around that didnt get used

ya know I always freaked out about breaking down on Peter Pan, how do they cycle the boats through being high up the air, do they do it from above from a secret compartment or can they reach up and just push the boats through (Like they do with Space Mountain, the CM's come by and push them through)

Peter Pan isn't so high up I would worry if we got stuck. Once we got stuck teetering on the very edge of Splash Mountian at the big hill. We were there for a few minutes and then they got it going again. Needless to say, the water had built up at the bottom and the entire log was completely soaked!

I also don't care to break down on Space or Screamin.

We've had those before. Ours were not allowed for Nemo but TSMM wasn't open then so that's probably why. Neat that you got to use them so well!!

Its hard to remember since we were so gung ho about collecting fast passes in general but im pretty sure we used them to get at space mountain once more when it was busy right before the park closed

I've gotten stuck on Space Mountain twice, and they never gave us those! They just gave us the option of riding again once the ride came back up. I did have a friend get one on Splash though, and they gave me three of them at City Hall once when I went to complain about a rude CM.

Wow! You were lucky to get a special pass! We broke down on PP in the volcano room also a few months back and they didn't give us anything. We were stuck in there for quite awhile too. The volcano room is my favorite part of the ride and it was so weird to see it with the lights on. Not very magical at all when you can see how they do it!

What a fun day! Also, what fun to share the wealth by surprising other families in line with the fastpasses! I bet their reactions were priceless.

I was stuck on SM at the top of the hill for about 20 minutes in WDW before. Our necks were killing us! We had to ride with the lights on, which completely ruined the fun of the ride. I haven't rode it since. We were only offered to ride again without waiting, no re-ad's and no FP's!

We got these @ City hall actually, after BTMR broke down for a second time. We were in the train and ready to go this time. The CM's wouldn't give us re-admits or our FP back, so city hall took care of us. It was the ONE ride my son wanted to do, and we did get to

Thanks for the pic, I've got to remember to take pictures of everything so I don't wish I had later.

They had some type of auxiliary power that moved the chain around on Peter Pan after about 3 minutes dangling above the volcano, I imagine they just connected it to a generator and cycled all the ships out and then reconnected to the original power base. It was down for about 20 minutes afterwards before they got it restarted. You are correct that it definitely is not impressive in the light, but sure is in the dark! It was neat to go through and see though.

Space Mt. is another story all together, I've been stuck in there and they released all our restraints and had us climb down some stairs. It is just a massive tangle of metal in there and quite scary going down the stairs. Not sure if they still cycle people out that way, as this time we were waiting to launch when it broke down.

Definitely love surprising people with fast passes, it helps you feel like you are part of the magic!
