Purple mickey light

What is this light of which you speak? We have our trip coming up in December. Are you saying our magic bands may cause the FP/tapstile light to light up a different color than green because MDE knows we own DVC??

All seeing Mickey will know you are DVC.

And he'll acknowledge it sometime. And CM's may or may not say anything.

I just need it to get me in and the rest they may do as they wish.

Mine tuned purple yesterday. My husband’s did not. I don’t think his ever has.

2 week trip just completed and not one time did I get a purple light

3 weeks ago mine turned purple all 10 times. (first time for "all"...usually only 1/2 the time).
Only 2 CM's said Welcome Home & Thank you for being a DVC member.

It was random for my husband and me during our trip a couple weeks ago. It only turned purple at MK and Epcot. I haven't heard 'welcome home' at the tapstiles in a long time :-(.

Mine seems to always turn purple at the international gateway. Its random at the other parks.

We got home on 10/22 from a 7 day trip. We entered parks at least 2 times per day. Mine always turned purple this year. My husbands never did and never has on previous trips. We can't figure out why. I heard welcome home about 3 times. A lot fewer times than on previous trips.

The gate guard said that to me last time we went to Jambo to eat. Im an AP holder but NOT a DVC member. Although we do book with DVC points 75% of the time, and have two upcoming stays in MDE with rented points.

When you enter a park, the green light might be purple.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I wouldn't see why a non-member would wear one. But even if it did give a consistent purple (which I highly doubt), it's still not worth 29.99/23.99.

I bought a couple for my wife and daughter and they did not get the purple light. Usually my wife gets the purple light. I never have an neither has our daughter. All 3 of us are members. We were there in late September. My wife did say that it should turn purple because it’s a DVC band. But it didn’t.

The DVC bands don't have special effects/colours. I think it has to do with having your own DVC account activated and even then it's random. My wife called in to have her account activated even though I do all of the planning/reservations and we both get purple from time to time. I think AK we have had it more often than other parks.

Agree with having a DVC account. But if the DVC band is one of the more expensive price points for MBs, come on Disney give me something worth that extra money! lol

As mentioned earlier, it's random for me though prob only 15% purple success rate.

I'm using a two-year-old band and have gotten the purple light each entry this trip. Spend twice at DHS and once at MK so far. Even got welcome home every time.

My daughter and I bought DVC on our most recent visit - Nov 6 - 14th. and the morning after we bought in and set up our account we went to HS and had it turn purple before it turned green for both of us! We (of course) had no idea why it turned purple and said something out loud about it. The CMs were super nice and said "It's because your DVC members and welcome home!" This of course was super exciting for us as we were brand new members and made us feel super special. It didn't always happen after that but when it did it was just a private little thrill! LOL

P.S. Happy Thanksgiving to all the American DVC owners!!! I'm Canadian so ours was in October but I really hope yours is just lovely today!
