purple magic band

I am not sure if it has been shared on the boards yet, but a plain purple magic band is now available! The parks app has it listed as $12.95.

I noticed the same thing! No Mickey head on the band! Weird...

I think the Mickey is still on there....if you look at the side with the holes there's a bump at the top of it.

Yeah, the band is just being shown sort of turned just a bit, from the side view, not looking down on the top of it. You can see where the bend is on either side of the Mickey head if you look at the dark grey part of the band.

Me too. There are already battles as to who can claim the color in our party of 11. I suspect there will be 10 purple and 1 pink...

I think it is terrible of Disney to not add it to the choices for resort guests / AP holders. From the post on the disney blog it doesn't appear they have any intentions to add it. They just know everyone requests purple so they are trying to cash in. Hopefully they will come to their senses and add it to the available colors for the "free" ones. Maybe if enough people tell them we want it included they will.

I was also really hoping that this one would be added to the list of available MBs for resort stays & passholders. But, there's always purple nail polish if need be.

I was just talking to a CM who was helping me link my friend's info to my MDE account and I asked about purple Magic Bands. She said they were only available for purchase and there were no plans to add them to the free set of colors. I got the impression she had heard this question many times!

My friend is a purple addict but she won't be going back to Disney any time soon so it's probably a waste to buy her a band she'll only be able to use once.
