Pure rumour and conjecture--re JetBlue

Howdy all.

I had a voicemail from my Mom this morning. She and my dad spend 3 months in Bonita Springs, FL which is served by RSW (Fort Meyers Airport).

On the news this morning, they had a blurb that Fort Meyers would be annoucing new carriers and routes into the Airport. Now, I have heard rumours that JetBlue would going into Ft Meyers "soon". I am wondering if this has been part of the hold up in releasing dates past Oct 31st.

Oh, and JetBlue just announced that they were seeking approval to fly from JFK to the Dominican Republic, so I am sure that had something to do with the date hold up as well.

Keep checking folks...dates past 10.31.04 might be coming soon.

There is a very strong rumor in Fort Myers that SW is coming after the new airport is opened.

Oooh CarolA, that would be GREAT too. I can fly out of PVD just as easily as BOS.

Deb, I was told by an airport official and some local residents who travel a lot that SW had said they would come to RSW if they built more gates.

I don't know if there is a contract so things could change.
