Purchasing upgrade and changing planes

If I upgrade to A1 to 15 on the 1st leg of the flight does that upgrade carry to the 2nd leg of the flight?

Are you purchasing upgraded boarding or upfaring to Business Select? Assuming this is on Southwest. If you purchase upgraded boarding that is only for that leg, if you upfare to Business Select you would get it on all legs.
