We will be checking in at OKW on Sun. 8/5 for 11 nights. We are actually arriving in the Disney area Saturday night 8/4, and staying at a hotel just outside of Disney. Would it be possible for us to purchase our length of stay passes or whatever they call them now on Saturday evening to take effect on Sun.? This way we can head straight to the park Sun. morning and get a full day in before check in. Has anyone ever done this or know if it can be done? This is our first DVC stay so we are not familiar with the procedures.
Thanks!

You will still need to go to OKW to check in and get your KTTW cards, so you will be able to purchase your park admissions at that time. They will not issue your room keys prior to check in, and your park passes will be on your room keys.

For a stay of 11 nights, you might also consider an AP- which can be purchased ahead.

If you plan to go to water parks, PI and DQ and NOT return within the next 12 months, then the UMP (with the 10% DVC discount) may still be best.

You can check out the ticket prices right here at DIS and do a cost comparison. The UMP includes all of the features mentioned above, an AP includes only the 4 theme parks and a Premium AP includes theme parks, water parks and PI.

Enjoy!

Do you know if we could at least check in early in the morning so we can get our tickets? I know the room won't be available until later in the afternoon, but we do want to take advantage of the full day as far as visiting the parks.

Yes, you can check in early. We always arrive early, check in, and are in the parks by 10 am. I'm sure you could do it earlier than that if you want.

Yes, you can check in after midnight actually. Go to the resort as early as you wish on your check-in day. They will get all the details out of the way, provide room keys (with passes encoded) and a number to call (from any WDW phone) to check on room availability later in the day.

Enjoy!

We checked in after midnight twice. The first time we got key cards and everything else we needed. The second time, we had to come back for our key cards. Had to do the line at check in 3 times this time because when we came back the second, the card machines were down. We had AP's so passes wern't an issue. We were just trying to avoid the check in crowds........spruce
