Purchasing tickets through Undercover Tourist

Hi! Just to clarify, if we purchase a 10-day PH ticket through UT, we will be able to upgrade this to an AP while in WDW, and we will get credit for Disney's price on the PH, right? (That will save us $15 on the AP.

It is my understanding you need to use the ticket first, which bridges the discounted ticket price up to the retail price then you upgrade to an AP. If you upgrade before using the ticket then you only get the value of the discounted ticket.
