Purchasing small add on

Just starting my research and figured I should come here to check with the experts first.

We have a 125 contract at AKV and would like to add on points at BCV or BWV. We are considering a 50 pt contract max, and it seems those are very hard to come by on resale. Our original purchase was resale but we bought in before the new restrictions so we are grandfathered in.

Would we be able to buy a small add on direct from Disney for BCV or BWV- or is there a waitlist for those resorts?
Would it make a large difference in cost if we buy direct as opposed to resale?

I think Disney allegedly closed the waitlists, but if you call, they may be willing to sell you the points anyway. Your best bet will be not only direct, but ask to match your UY.

There will be a cost difference, but closing will be less expensive. Plus, as you've noticed, these small contracts are rare in resale. Buying direct you ought to be able to match UY, which is really important for convenience's sake.

Makes complete sense! I would love to have same use year for both contracts so i can manage them easier

I would give your guide a call. Over the summer, my guide told me he had BCV points available that matched my use year. So, it seems like it is possible, but it may take a little bit of time. In looking at pricing, there isn't as much of a savings when buying a small contract resale. A lot of the small contracts I was looking at were stripped and at a higher price.

We added on at BWV in the fall and at the time they had available 50 pt contracts with August, September and October use years at a minimum ( I had asked about those specific use years). Call and ask, I was surprised at the availability.
