Hi Everyone,

I am ready to purchase points in the DVC and is wondering what are the advantages and disadvantages of purchasing through a reseller. Besides saving money, are there any other advantages? I have thought about purchasing points through "The Time Share Store". Anyone ever have any issues with them? are tehy legitmate? I just want to be sure that my investment is secure if I go through an outside party and not DVC. Any replys, feedback, advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Will

I see the advantages of a re-seller as being able to purchase "closed" DVC resorts such as OKW, VWL, BWV as well as resorts that Disney sells (with the exception of SS). You may also be able to get a bettert deal through a resale.

I have purchased through The TimeShare Store and had no major problems. I would use them again if the right deal came through them.

Advantages of purchasing through Disney include being able to access your points as soon as you make your downpayment and MB buy back to lower your total cost.

Either way, if you can afford it - go for it; we haven't regretted our purchase!:jester:

If you can find a resale deal with banked points, it becomes a really good deal, especially if you're not in a hurry. We bought a resale VWL with all 2002 points banked, and used the 2002 points for our upcoming trip, then rented out the 2003 points. Made our own Magical Beginnings that way.
