Purchasing DVC direct - new member

I am in the process of purchasing VGF. I will be closing next weekend. I saw on another post someone just purchased VGF and their UY is October. My guide told me my UY will be March. It sounds like I would be better off with an October UY. Is this something I can ask for?

When did you sign? If it's within 10 days rescind now. There are tons of threads where people wanted UYs that have 2022 points and guides say no. They need to get special approval, but the points are there. If October works better for your travel patterns do not settle for March.

If you haven't signed anything you can just talk to your guide, explain you need Oct, and ask him/her to seek the required approval for that UY.

I haven’t signed yet. I am scheduled to close on the 4th. I was told I will get 2023 points that I can sell back, but it sounds like if I choose October I will get 2022 and 2023. Is that correct?

time is kinda on your side here …. As long as you sign on or before the incentIves expire…..

Correct. If you choose October or December you will receive the 2022 points free of charge and you can sell those back for Magical Beginnings should you desire and still have 2023 points.

Yes, September, October, and December UYs still have 2022 points. These 3 UYs will sell back 2022 points for Magical Beginnings. Today is probably the last day September is available because the contract needs to be generated 4 days prior to the end of the UY. I doubt you can get that UY. Oct and Dec should be doable. You will not close until you have signed and completed financing documents OR signed and paid the contract in full.

I just told my guide that October works best for our times of travel. It wasn’t an issue at all. He didn’t even try to pitch any of the 2023 use years.
