Hi. Due to the recent hike in Disneyland Annual Passport prices, I turned to Craigslist to purchase gift cards for annual passports at a discount rate. I had the seller provide me with proper identification to reach them in case of a "scam" (photo copied license & car insurance). My question is, the seller provided me with a photo of a hard copy gift card for a SoCal Annual Passport at $250, (1) is there a way to duplicate a hard copy gift card (example: somehow get a copy for saying you "lost" it); (2) is there a number or website I can go to in order to check if these gift cards are legit as I can see a barcode number; (3) should I go through with this when the seller is having me go to their workplace to pick up the tickets (therefore I can always come back if they are attempting to scam me)?

All inputs are welcome.

Thanks.

Anything that seems to be a good deal always has a hitch.

True. Is there a way to protect the buyer, myself? For example getting the personal information of the seller.

This isn't exactly a gift card but rather a hard copy Disneyland Resort card that states "For park admission please present this card at the Main Turnstile".

I don't really think there is a way to fully protect yourself. Disney won't back you up on this, as you aren't allowed to resale them.

How would having a copy of the seller's license, car insurance and knowing where they work protect you? If the tickets prove to be no good, and the police arrest and charge the seller, that still wouldn't get your money back.

the worst part is I really don't even think the cops would arrest him all they would say is take him/her to small claims, since mostly likely the seller is just going to claim that he sold you the ticket in good faith thinking it was still valid
