We are going to need to buy some additional points in the near future and just new the best place to get some answers was here on the boards.

1. What are the maintenence costs per pt. at each resort?

2. Are there still VB pts. and magical beginnings available?

3. What are the minimum pts. add on DVC will finance?

4. Whats DVC current rates? Will they roll it into my existing loan?

5. Does add on have to be the same use year if at a different
resort.

6. Has anyone confirmed the increase to $84 in Dec?

I know thats alot of questions so, thanks in advance!

I can answer some of these since we just did a Vero add on a couple of moths ago.

1. Vero $4.17, BCV $3.77, OKW $3.22, BWV $3.92, WLV $3.80, HH $3.49.

2. Last I knew there was still Vero points available. The MB was $15 a point, which would bring the cost to $65 a point.

3. Minimum points for financing is 50.

4. The current rate for DVC varies depending on how much you put down and how long a loan you take. We put 20% down for 10 years so our rate was just under 11%. But we moved it on to a low interest credit card when we got home.

5. If you buy an add on through DVC the use years must be the same. Through a resale they don't have to be.

6. I haven't confirmed it, but I bet it is going up then. Sales have been brisk and they have been doing rate increases a couple of times a year for the last few years.

Since I am not a member, I cannot answer any of the questions but #6. I can confirm the price increase, as I called and talke to someone to have some information mailed to me, and he did tell me that the price will go up on 12/1.

I posted the Dec 1 price increase. I was called by my guide Susie Farnsworth. I considered that a confimed price seeing that it came direct from DVC.

5. If you buy an add on through DVC the use years must be the same. Through a resale they don't have to be.

I am not sure that this is correct, only because when I wanted to add on they mentioned that it would be in a different use month and that it could be a hassle if I did not keep track.

Disney offered to sell you a different use year, Gail?

They've never done that before...I wonder if some rules have been changed. We have been able to sell resales with different use years for quite a while.

Thanks for sharing!

I would not swear to this, it has been awhile. But, I have a use year in April, the points I wanted had a use year of Nov. There was no problem in purchasing this, except for some confusion theory. Perhaps I am confusing months with years.
It is awful to get old. :)

Just purchased some points at BCV's and was given no option other than April for the use year ( same as our VWL points ).

The trick is now to get the paperwork recorded before end of month so I can bank 100% . ( I think ... )

Based on previous posts, when buying through Disney, they require you to have the same use year with one notable exception: if you buy at least 150 points, they consider that a separate contract (if only on paper) and that can be a different use year than your other points.
