Nice. I thought you had to purchase by this year for that. Well that is a nice surprise.
Yes, we purchase week 49 at CCV but have a Sept. UY. If you swap out your FW for Points, they will go into your other UY.Just bought a guaranteed week. Standard studio week 49 (second week of December). I was as skeptical of the Skyliner as anyone, but I think Disney will get this right. Interestingly, I don't have Dec UY contract, but that wasn't an issue at all.
Ok, I'm sorry, I am learning a lot but still a little fuzzy on some of the finer points.
If I purchase a contract with an August use year are you saying so long as I make that purchase before August 2020 I will get all 2019 points?
Not necessarily. Once resorts are open and on sale, Disney usually falls into a sale process for new purchasers where it is typically offering a use year that start 3 to 5 months before the month of sale, and it often will not go back beyond that amount of time, although sometimes it has. In the past, for add-ons, Disney has often stretched that period more and during difficult sales times even to 10 months, e.g., if Aug use year, it has at times gone to the prior year if you purchase in June but not July. But at other times, Disney has not gone back more than 5 to 6 months for add ons, e.g., you can back to Aug the year before if you buy by end of Jan but not Feb or after, so it will depend on what Disney is doing at the time.
Just a question...why do people who about to spend 25k-30k worry about getting a 1750.00 discount... I mean it only provides a free 9-10 points... is that really the reason to pull the trigger now before ever seeing it in person????
Because nothing about this purchase is rational and most (I'd love the statistics) finance when buying direct. When you see it as "3 months free" on your payments - what.a.deal.
Where are these models located?
TIA!
They always have to sell the current UY's points as well as all future UYs points. As long as you purchase by July 31, 2020, then they will sell the contract with 2019 points as you will still be in your 2019 UY until August 1, 2020. You would obviously need to make sure they banked the points into 2020. Really the only risk with waiting, IMO, is the fact that the price will most likely go up between now and then. We have no way of knowing how much the price will increase though. I'm sure they have tiered amounts based on how it is selling. I hope this helps.
I can buy any UY at any time correct? I can call any time in the next few months and purchase whatever UY I want? Provided it isn't sold out of course.
Disney is indeed selling Riviera points with a February Use Year. However, the first allotment of points will be for the February 2020 Use Year. It's been reported that you can not buy February use years at Riviera, for at least the near term.
At what point do you anticipate being able to observe/measure the popularity of the resort relative to historical selling rates, Wil?Disney is indeed selling Riviera points with a February Use Year. However, the first allotment of points will be for the February 2020 Use Year.
If a Riviera owner has a February UY, they would have to borrow points from their 2020 UY if they want to use those points to book a stay at the Riviera for December 2019 or January 2020.
The filing date of the master declaration is not a factor in determining how far back Disney can offer points for specific Use Years. It could not sell a Feb 2019 use year . . . . The Declarations were not filed with the Orange County Comptroller before Feb 2019 and thus the resort was not legally a timeshare resort by Feb 1, prohibiting sales with a Feb 1, 2019 start date.

I bought! I already own at AKV Kidani and Poly, but we have been waiting for this one to become available for purchase. We love what we have seen of the pictures and details released. I'm indifferent towards the gondolas, so that was not a deciding factor for me. I was just in France over Christmas and I see so many subtle resemblances to the architecture there in this property. I can't wait to see more details about the restaurants.
For those that purchased here is some photos of the status. The skyliner station is looking really far along now.

I'm so stuck between purchasing 130 more points when we go in October or just purchasing another 150 VGF points to add on to our current 130 direct. I know what the smart choice is but I want an epcort resort.
