Purchase Stroller Insurance or Not?

We have decided to rent a double city mini stroller (from either magic strollers or baby wheels). I hate to pay for insurance but is it really better to have it at WDW? Is it enough if I tie some bandanas and other stuff on the stroller? It seems like many of the stroller rental companies use the same strollers so maybe stealing isn't an issue with these?

We did (from Magic Strollers) because it also covered damage, etc. For the extra $25, I liked the peace of mind. Those are expensive strollers and I would hate to have to pay for a new one out of pocket. I've never heard of the strollers getting stolen, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened :) If money is tight, you could probably get away without it, but for me, it just made me more comfortable.

my opinion...YES...simple reason as our stroller was stolen on our trip 2 years ago. We rented the double city mini from Magic Strollers and went to animal kingdom to watch a bugs life came out in under 2 minutes as one of our kids got scared and it was gone never to be seen again. Without the insurance I paid I would have had to replace a stroller that costs about $400 bucks or more and would have been out a stroller for our trip. This happened on a Saturday and Magic Strollers brought us a new stroller right to animal kingdom within an hour or less. Things happen and I would have never thought this would have happened but it did. These strollers are expensive hence the reason thieves take them as they resell them on places like craigslist. For peace of mind like the pp said I would get it for the nominal amount that it cost- $25 I think. Have fun on your trip.

We get the insurance. To us adding on another $25 is worth more peace of mind on our vacation.:goodvibes

Wendylovesdisney... Yep it got stolen on our 2nd day there. It was labeled with our last name too. Disney was really great and tried to help locate it and even gave us strollers for our kids until we got a replacement. I dont think people realize that things including strollers get stolen everywhere even at Disney. That day at AK we were the 5th stroller reported stolen according the person helping us. The only saving grace was Disney gavebus front row seats for lion king which was amazing and helped turn the day around. We really did have Disney magic that day! OP for such a small amount I would say get it. I have read on here plenty of strollers that have gotten stolen one lady even found hers with some lady pushing her kids in it! I am sure it doesn't happen frequently but does happen. I rationalize the $25 by thinking to myself can I afford (would I be upset if I had too) replace the stroller if something does happen to it. Also like a pp said it covers damage to so if your kids spill that infamous Mickey bar all over the seat and won't come out your covered with the insurance.

Do it. It is worth it. The last thing you want is to be in the middle of a ride or attraction but have your mind wandering to whether your stroller is safe. Whenever my stroller was moved, which it was several times, I was only mildly concerned. If I hadn't had insurance, I would have been frantic.

The rental insurance really gave me a great peace of mind. and I'd never rent a stroller without it. We were so careful while using it, so that my boys didn't make a mess whilst sitting in it. I made sure that they had their sunscreen on BEFORE we put them in it (that stuff stains and is so hard to get out!) BUT...
Both of my boys ended up getting sick in the stroller

I worked really, really hard at making sure that it was perfectly clean afterwards. They do sanitize them between each use, but I was still really worried about it. When I remembered that the insurance protected me against loss or damage, I did start to feel a bit better (I still cleaned it as best I could though - I packed surface cleaner wipes, febreeze etc) but I was SO HAPPY that I bought the insurance for a peace of mind. My older son was sick all over himself moments after waking up from a nap in Magic Kindgom and my younger one...well, he is so young, that there is no way he could have warned us either.

We learned to always be prepared for the unexpected. Not just potential stroller theft! :)

If you are using a credit card for rental, check to see if they would cover a loss. You might be paying for something you don't need.

We rented a City Mini GT Double from Kingdom Strollers and purchased the insurance. It allowed us to park the stroller without having to worry about it. I definitely think it's worth it!

I would do it for peace of mind - but also agree to check if your credit card company covers it first. We take our 9 year old clunky stroller to Disney. I love not having to stress if someone should steal it. Ours is not all that valuable so it's stress-free for me.
