Purchase Resale at BLT or VGF

That was my thought when I bought in. 1 Epcot/HS resort, 1 Monorail/MK Resort, and added on an AK resort for the savannah views/SAP+ points since it was cheap (relatively speaking)
Reviving this thread from the dead but even though likely unnecessary this was our mindset as well. Likely will get direct Poly in early 2026 to complete the set. AKV I go back and forth on whether or not I really want to keep it but it is so nice to snag value studios and club level which I would never get to book without owning there. IMO it’s better than getting room service at GF and the convenience is worth the extra points.

This is still my goal ---- hoping the right BLT contract becomes available in 2025 🤞

I was just perusing this thread yesterday...glad IT'S ALIVE!

Currently strategizing VGF vs BLT. I'm only looking for a small contract at the moment, but I definitely see a trend in BLT increasing over the past month. Asking price anyway.

Purely a hunch, but you might want to snag that BLT contract before the refurbishment rooms start coming online. I’m thinking those BLT resale points are going up. How much? Not sure. 10%? 20%
Yep, a small BLT is on the top of the add-on list. If prices go up I may have to wait till next winter/spring to snag one. I won’t need the points until 2027 anyway.

I hear ya! :P
Not seeing anything in my sweet spot yet; hoping year-end pre-dues might spur some additional sales.
A lot of the small-ish contracts are overpriced, in my estimation, and many have clauses that will accept nothing but a full-price offer.
& to-date, not seeing anything under 100 points in my use year....

Exactly. There are those double digit contracts out there for my preferred UY, but same scenario you mention.

Every time I think “I forget about AKV, let’s watch a quick room tour on YouTube,” the rooms remind me of my college dorm and first apartment 😂

Was your college dorm in Africa? 😂 I don’t know aside from the doors and carpeting the rest I don’t really mind. The refurb could flip the script on AKV though. It manages to rank highly on polls consistently regardless. We still are yet to stay in Kidani though so maybe that’s why my view of it is better? Club level is just SO good though and if it were available at another resort I’d probably consider letting it go. Nothing beats getting back to your hotel after a day in the parks and filling up a plate full of snacks and getting a drink and walking the 50 feet to your room and then enjoying said snacks while watching the animals from your balcony.

Sounds amazing!!
I’ve only stayed in Kidani, and have yet to even step foot in Jambo, but besides the food I’m not sure I feel like I need to.
Sole day I’ll try for club level.

All the brown cabinets, doors, trim, flooring is blah!
This is how we end up with rooms that look generic with IP spewed everywhere in place of real theming.

I don’t want to feel like I am “at Disney”…. I want to feel like I am “in Africa”. The Polynesian Moana rooms… the Contemporary Incredibles rooms…. NO, thank you.

Let me say it a different way - the brown looks cheap and is an unattractive shade of brown. Those cabinets in particular are hideous. That has nothing to do with “theming.”

I agree that the colors and trim would be better as a brighter color but the details on things like the chairs and tables where there are animals in the woodwork IMO more than make up for it. I look forward to the refurb but I'm also sad that we're going to be losing some of that character with it like we did with Boardwalk. I like the rooms at Boardwalk but I'd be lying if I said it's not missing the Disney touches.

I think that the “hideous” opinion could be debated by others, but I agree that they could change out the carpet, flooring, and cabinets without impacting any of the other unique pieces that make the rooms special.

Even though I've never stayed at AKV, I adore those details!

💯 Completely agreed! All the brown makes the room a bit too dark, and "old". It would be nice if they could lighten it up a little without affecting the overall African/safari vibe.
