Yes, contracts never change, Only what is in your membership, So, as long as they are the same resort and UY, titled the same way, they will function as though you have one large contract, but will remain individual.

If you buy some points resale and some points direct, only the direct points would be usable at new resorts and be eligible for the blue card,

If you ever sold that contract, then the blue card benefits go away.

BWV - just be sure you are OK with the 2042 end date. It scared us away, otherwise that would have been my choice too.

Yes. I am thinking 20 years will be plenty. The kids can figure it out from there...

Starting with a resale contract is a better way to go, because IF you are flexible on UY, you can find the resale contract that best matches what you want at a price you want. When you add on, you can then just add on with your existing UY. If you buy direct first, then you're restricted in finding the perfect resale contract.
