I don't purchase new clothing/accessories specifically for vacation, but I will purchase things I need. If I purchase anything at all for WDW trips, it's usually a new pair of sneakers a month or two before the trip so I know they will be comfortable! Sometimes a new pair of walking sandals, as I wear those throughout the year at home. My style is business casual (yes, even in the parks!), so I wear the same clothing that I know is comfortable for a sixteen-hour workday at home on vacation! :)

If I have to travel to colder climates for business or pleasure, I usually have to purchase some items. I live in the desert and the warmest clothing I own are a reversible fleece/water repellent stadium coat and sneakers! Not really suitable for climates with extended temperatures below 40 degrees! Particularly for a desert rat who considers 60 degrees to be *on the nippy side*!

Yes I do buy new clothes for vacation... but I wait till the summer clothes go on clearance. :) And I try to only buy what I need. For this trip - so far - I've bought a couple of sturdy flip flops that will withstand walking (white and black) and a couple extra pairs of capris on clearance for nights. I'm looking for a few pairs of shorts since I realized this summer I'm down to 3 and that won't last very long on my trip. haha

DH is always ruining something so I always have to get him clothes. He wore his good loafers to a shark fishing tournament a few weeks ago and when he came home they were covered in fish guts. Guess who needs new shoes now too! hahahaha  On our last trip, he ruined his shoes the WEEK before we left and I bought him a new pair and BEGGED him to break them in before we went. He didn't and we spent the entire week sitting on benches because he had horrible blisters. GRRR. This will NOT happen this time! :headache:

I don't buy new clothes to go on vacation. The only time I've done so was one trip to WDW where DS had outgrown every pair of shorts from the previous year. In that case I kind of had to. But I would have bought them within a couple months anyhow.

I actually knew some folks that would bring old clothes on vacations. They would wear them. Through them out and then have space to collect toys that they bought...

I've actually read this as a packing tip when I was planning our European vacation. Take old underwear, shirts, etc and then throw them out if you need room for all the great souvineers. DH and I did leave all of our almost empty toiletries behind in Paris to make room.

I always buy new clothes for myself for vacation but then I only shop twice a year. I buy clothes for the first week of school- Gotta psych myself up somehow and then new vacation clothes come summer. I never buy DD new vacation clothes but she always has too many clothes already. DH and DS buy only if they need something.

i normally shop when i get there so much that i have decided to just take outfits, then i shop at their walmart and the malls and the parks, so yes buy some new stuff, except for my daughter, she has so many summer outfits that she needs no new stuff, i did have to buy her some pants, we go in december and there are some cool days there. I was not prepared but i will be next time.

Bathing suits are on sale now at department stores, and since Going Back to School sales are going on right now, I don't think there is nothing wrong with buying a new pair of cute jeans and a top. I don't go hog-wild on new clothes for vacation/trip but I always buy at least one new top.
