Puppy people

I have had 2 English Setters and could not have asked for better dogs...they were absolutely amazing. They were the most loyal, friendly, devoted dogs ever, not one bit high strung and excellent with kids. We have a rescue dog right now who we love to death but he is very protective to the point of being mean and hates other dogs. (and he is only 12 pounds, not quite a guard dog!)

We have decided our next dog will definitely be another Setter, we have had nothing but great experiences with them.

Thank you all for your great input. I'm heartened to hear good stories about English Setters. DH is pretty high on them as a breed right now, so I think we will continue our research. I appreciate all the comments (good, bad & ugly!)
