Our puppy is about 4-1/2 months old. I am worried about, the Christmas tree and presents, any tips from other dog owners? She has lots of toys, but she does like to get into things she shouldn't be getting into. We do put her in a little pen at night and when we go off, so she will only be out when we are home, but she usually gets into stuff when I am busy cleaning or cooking. Just want to keep her from eating something dangerous, this pup eats anything (including dead things the cat kills outside YUCK!) Any advice?

I have been known to put the tree in a play pen to keep pups and kids out of it. I put the presents under the tree until a couple days before Christmas. I don't put anything with food in it under the tree or on the tree. My Minky loooooves candy! He has 1) stripped all the candy canes off the tree and eaten them, 20 in all 2) torn into some homemade Chex Mix my mother put into a present 3) eaten 2-lbs of chocolate from a sealed gift box leaving nothing but a bit of cardboard. and 4) stolen all the hanging chocolate ornaments (think: foil-decorated poo!) One Christmas my son was so enamored of the tree he couldn't leave it alone. I ended up putting it outside on the back porch!
So my first advice is do not put any dog presents under the tree because they will smell them and will increase their interest in the tree.
So yeah...anything for the dog is NOT going on the floor!
