Folkmanis is releasing four Disney puppets (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Pluto) and I will be receiving my Pluto soon. Would they allow taking the puppet into the parks to interact with characters?

Nobody will stop a puppet at the gates.
(Unless he's trying to walk in by himself.) ;)

LOL, perfect response. I know I have debated this with others on original characters, and I think the consensus was that it would be frowned upon to maintain IP and what not (meaning no pictures with the characters). Wasn't 100% sure on that, especially with a Disney IP puppet.

Stuffed animals are taken to the character meets all the time.

Puppets are just "stuffed" with guests' hands instead of foam rubber.

That is a really cute idea, OP! As Robo said, I think if you can get pictures taken with stuffed animals, puppets should be fine(and actually a lot more fun and interactive. I bet the characters will have fun with it). As long as you're not pestering other guests I say go for it. They are great looking puppets!

I like that viewpoint, hmm... My talk show host puppet might have to go with me as well :)

Thanks :) Thinking of having him wear a white bandanna for several characters to sign as well. Looking forward to the interactions :D

I would think bringing a puppet would be similar to the time we brought a stuffed Duffy. Both Minnie and Mickey had fun interacting with Duffy.

I just looked up these puppets on line.

(HERE is Pluto.)

REALLY nice puppets!!

They are nice, though I find Pluto and Donald were the better ones to manipulate. I played with them while at Market for my job, here is a short test of Pluto:

Magnificent!

I used to manage a small business, and we had Folkmanis puppets as part of our inventory. Oh my gosh, new shipments were my favorite mail day. I love that they have these Disney puppets, they're gorgeous!

The ears move?!?!! Why are these so expensive, I now covet them!!!

OP, I sincerely hope you post any pictures/videos you get interacting with the characters. Are you a professional puppeteer?

There is a button in each paw, pressing it makes the ear move. So he can do one or both, one of the reasons I chose him :D And I can hold Pluto in a way hiding the fact that he is a puppet.

Professional? No, aspiring though. Have created a few and currently working on a YouTube puppet talk show. But its a hobby and for fun.

That's actually not at ALL expensive (even for just a stuffed animal of that size and quality from a top manufacturer.)

I suppose you're right! I guess it just feels expensive in the sense that I personally have no need to be spending 50-75 dollars on puppets. They would never be used, but would make nice display pieces!

For comparison, the yellow guy in my profile pic cost me nearly $250. These are full plush display pieces that happen to also be puppets.

Ask me how I know these things... ;)

ROBO!! You put my Disney collection to shame!!!! It's all so beautiful I could cry. Where did the Steamboat Willie stuffed animal come from!?

I have moved several times in the last few years(the joys of being in your 20's...) and I can barely fit myself and my dog in my current apartment, but I aspire to have a collection as impressive! (Won't happen anytime soon if I'm a cheapskate about a couple of puppets though! )

Steamboat Willie came from a department store at Christmastime a few years ago.
We also now have a traditional Mickey and Minnie that size.
