Hugs and prayers for you and your family, Tess! I hope you hear something soon. You keep trying to call them!! Liz seemed to do better that way, and I also remember when I called my sister 9/11. I was in FL, she was outside of DC. She couldn't get anyone with her cell or any other phone, but calling from my cell, I reached her. And it did take quite a while. I can only imagine how horrible it must be to know the situation there and to not have heard from anyone since Friday evening. Your inquiry about Alligator Park...maybe you should copy that section and start a thread!! Many more DISers would see it, and you might hear through them how the area is. Bless you!!

My BIL and SIL and neices are in Cape Coral Florida. We briefly heard from them through FIL late on Friday night. They are without power, water and as of Saturday Morning phone service. Luckily their house suffered only minimal damage but Im still worried because they are without the basics. MIL and FIL told them to come here but they said no. Now we cant even reach them to find out if there is anything we can do etc....nor can they reach MIL or FIL to let them know if they will come stay with them or not. I called BIL's cellphone but got his messaging service. Im hoping he gets the message I left and is able to get back to us.

Tess cell service will be back faster than regular phone service. After Andrew we ended up getting a cell phone paid for by our insurance co for 3 months. It took that long to get our phone service back up. They have priorities as to who gets phone service first and homes are not a priority.
