Pumpkin fudge and other "fall" treats??

All this talk about treats is making me hungry!! I can not wait for the halloween decorations!

September through December is my favorite time of year at DL!! I just love all the decorations. My dd loves to decorate cookies at Thunder Mountain Ranch.

I have not tried the pumpkin muffin but I see one in my future. :lovestruc

I love that whole September - December period too. It is funny to me because I used to - in the old days - always make a summer trip to DL, and sometimes go around Easter, and going during the holidays was not such a big deal. Then, all of a sudden, more and more holiday trips were planned, and it became mandatory - my favorite time of year to go! And then, when they started making a bigger deal out of Halloween, that became a must! Now, I have NO desire to go during the HOT summer at all, and I would miss seeing all the holiday decorations if I were to go during another time of year.

There were some special cookies and pastries. The Blue Ribbon Bakery was where we got pumpkin muffins last year, and they had a very detailed Mick-o-lantern stuck in the tops, which almost seemed like a sculpture, it was so hard. But it was actually edible. I tried to preserve it and not eat it but then the ear broke off! It seems like in the e-mail I got from Disney the other day, on their cute Halloween page, they listed some new treats they did not have last year. There is something called a 'hot mug' which will be sold at Blue Ribbon. I don't know what a hot mug is but it is a collectible of some kind so I am sure I will want it!

I'm sooo excited to see these "fall" treats ! Especially anything that has to deal with PUMPKIN !?! My family knows this.. I'm NUTS for anything pumpkin :rotfl:

I don't mind not going to DL in the summer at all. It really holds no appeal for me.

The fall is a must do! I let dd and I stay overnight only once a year (we live so close it is silly to stay) and we do it in the fall when the halloween decorations are up. This year we got a great rate at the DLH for the same night as the trick or treat party we are doing at DCA.

Shh --- don't tell dd but I also try to get down twice during the holiday season (one halloween, one christmas time) by myself while she is in school! LOL!! I would be in such trouble if she ever found out.

I love both the pumpkin muffin and the pumpkin spice latte from Bakersfield Bakery in DCA, and I would be devastated to miss out on them during our Halloween trip.

I am a little worried this year because we are going for the actual Halloween weekend, and as other PPs have said, I am afraid that most things will be sold out. Thus, I will try to do as much Halloween shopping as possible during our visit in just under two weeks!

Well, there will be no shortage of pumpkin stuff to be had. I always go in with the mindset that I don't need all this extra food and all this extra 'stuff,' and there isn't really anything that could tempt me that much now because I have bought so much Disney 'stuff' over the years already... and then I poke my head into the first store on Main Street while my friend disappears down one aisle, and I hear her voice calling, "Sherry, come look at THIS!" And that is the snowball effect kicking in! After that, there is no tunring back!

I don't blame you! If I had kids I know I would have to get to DL for my own trips every now and then. I know parents have to do a lot of things when there that they might not ordinarily do, because they have the kids with them. And the parents can't always do what they used to like to do before they had children. So you have to break away every now and them! Oh, and I understand about staying at the DLH even when you live close. I live in L.A., and some people wonder why I would stay in one of the Disney hotels, but more amusing is the fact that my friend who will be with me in October lives five minutes down the street from DL - she hears the fireworks every night - and she stays in the hotel because it seems more like a 'vacation' that way. It makes it more special than just looking at it as 'Oh, I am going to DL, which is right down the street from me, and which I pass every day on the way to work...'

When I had the muffin last year, it had no filling in it. I don't know if the ones with filling are new (mentioned on the Disneyland Halloween web page), or if I just missed the filled muffins last year! So I have to get one! And as for the merchandise, even though you are going on the Halloween weekend, I almost tend to think they might replenish their supply of stuff for that weekend because it will be a big crowd in the two parks and they want to sell as much stuff as possible. So I have a feeling you will be in luck!

I go to Disneyland about every 2 weeks. Last Fall I looked for the pumpkin fudge and never saw it. When we took the Holiday Tour in December, they take you by the candy shop on Main Street and give you a free piece of fudge. That was where I had eaten the pumpkin fudge before, but it was no where to be seen then either. I hope I can find it someplace this year, it really isn't Fall without it.

DH ate the pumpkin muffin last year with the cream cheese frosting and little pumpkin Mickey head on the top. It was very good! I bought the "hot mug" last year and got hot choc in it from the Blue Ribbon Bakery. That was some of the best hot choc I have ever had. I like having the mug for morning coffee on the go when I am at home.

While were talking hot choc (or really I am I guess .. lol). Has anyone had it from the coffee/tea shop (I can't think if what it is called)? It's is on the other side of the street from bakery. I got some there and it was NOTHING like what I got from the bakery. I almost didn't get it at the bakery because I had it from the other shop first and it was not good. I am not sure if the person there didn't make it right, or if they just used a different kind. But from the bakery it was super yummy and warms you up on the cool fall nights. Plus it goes good with the pumpkin muffin :goodvibes

I remember White Water Snacks at GCH had these small pumpkin pies with a rasberry shaped mickey head on top. I think it also had a chocolate leaf. I remember seeing it one year but didn't see it last year. It tasted really good. I hope they have it again this year. :)

nah they have it every year...you just might have gotten a different kind....you can see the frosting from the top because there is a little like mickey head edible candy on top of it:goodvibes

Lynn: is that confirmed? That would be so awesome--hopefully they'll get a company in there who actually knows how to make GOOD coffee!

lol I hear you gf......well they have already started removing all the nestle logos...miceage says:

Nestle has begun to formally disintegrate and Nestle' brand logos are now disappearing from all over Disneyland property. The Disneyland Kennel Club is no longer sponsored by Friskies, which was a brand owned by Nestle'

Just a few weeks ago the French Market Restaurant in New Orleans Square lost its decades old sponsorship by Stouffers, which is also a brand name owned by corporate giant Nestle'

Thus far, the Disneyland place-names Carnation Cafe and Carnation Plaza Gardens are still safe. Even though Carnation Ice Cream, yet another Nestle' owned brand, is now off the menu, the Disney lawyers have come to a tentative agreement with Nestle' that the names have historical significance that outweighs their association with a specific ice cream once served there

WOW! I forgot I even posted this thread. Great to read how much everyone loves the treats. I can't wait to try the pumpkin fudge and the muffin. We never made it to Whitewater snacks last trip so thats a must for this upcoming trip.

Thanks for the info guys!

So I went to the DL link provided on the first page, and I went down to the 2 spots where it talks about fall treats and fall merchandise, but it wont let me click on them. Is something wrong?? I can click on the other things, but not the ones I want!!

This is probably too early to ask, but does anyone know any good treats during the Christmas holidays? :)

Thanks

The one I had a couple weeks ago didn't have filling either. I think they are just getting skimpy with it. It was still way tasty, though. Extrememly moist. Bought two for the 4 of us to eat during the parade and one to take home afterwards. We had it for breakfast the next morning - minus the cream cheese! Zoe got to it and licked it all off!

Peppermint fudge with crushed up candy canes in it... peppermint mochas and peppermint hot chocolate. Gingerbread men that are designed with mouse ears on. And, if you are really lucky and there on the right day (which I have never been  ) they are sometimes making candy canes in the shop on Main Street. But, from what I have heard, they sell out extremely quickly!

had the pumpkin fudge tonight. delicious. I've been trying to get it the past couple weeks, but they kept saying they don't know when they get it, and when they do, its gone.

It was a lot more pumpkiny than I would have thought it to be. But I am a sucker for anything pumpkin.

They also have amazing looking pumpkin cupcakes I have yet to try.
