With Halloween fast approaching I thought now would be a good time to officially open the competition :thumbsup2
Although we are all a nice honest bunch on here I thought we should have a couple of rules just to ensure fair play.

Photos submitted must have the entrant in it with their pumpkin - this is to make sure that a picture hasn't just been downloaded from net and claimed as your own :rolleyes1
Closing date for entries will be 2nd November
There will be 3 categories.
1. Best Disney Pumpkin
2. Best Non-Disney Pumpkin
3. Most Original Pumpkin
When posting your photo please ensure you state what category you are submitting it for.

Once all the entries are in I will set up a poll and people will then have 3-4 days to cast their vote.

If anyone else can think of anything else to add to the rules etc then please feel free to mention it on this thread.

For those of you that are new to pumpkin carving there are lots of really cool sites out there that will give you all the hints and tips you need to create some amazing lanterns. Our favourite site is Zombie Pumpkins and you can find it HERE
They have some great designs, hints, tips and galleries of ones they have done - they do charge a small fee to download the patterns but this does entitle you to unlimited downloads of as many patterns as you can print

I am looking forward to seeing what you can all come up with :goodvibes

Just bumping this thread up for all of those interested in joining in the competition. This is the official thread to post your pictures, good luck:goodvibes:goodvibes

sorry kenny and sue, it was me that rebumped the original thread:angel:

are we doing a kiddies section, might be worth starting on monday:rotfl2:

I think a kids competition would be a good idea.
Mrs Pegasus has already decided what she is doing. I just need to have a look round when I get a few minutes to myself (maybe Tuesday) to see what I am doing.

Ooh how fun, i'll be entering! Going to buy my carving pumpkins either tomorrow or Tuesday :)

How are we getting on with the Pumpkins, anybody started yet? I saw loads for sale in Asda yesterday and did think about having a go, but Im not at all creative and dont really know where to start:rotfl2:

We bought ours yesterday.

Saturday will be carving time, I'm making a pumpkin pie too! :)

Mrs Pegasus and DD are in the dining room carving as I type. We have 8 pumpkins altogether - whether they will all get carved or not depends on how much of all the other stuff for the party we manage to get done tonight and tomorrow. :goodvibes

Have a go! If I can do it, anyone can.;) Buy a little cheapo carving kit from Asda and find an online picture to copy. It's really fun and they don't have to be masterpieces!

If you click the on the link in my OP there are loads of really good designs on there. I am sure there is a free section too :thumbsup2

I've done the three I bought from Asda already and am considering buying some more tomorrow night. I bought the $5 membership from zombiepumpkins and used stencils from there for the ones i've carved so far. I have the Freddy Krueger one printed out to try too but I think it needs a bigger pumpkin than i've seen for sale around here!

will upload some piccies later,I have done a mickey, minnie and am doing a tigger and jack skellington today. :goodvibes

here are my pumpkins, I am really pleased with them - they took ages to do.
