Starting to plan our 2nd trip to Disney but this time we will be coming in a 34 foot motorhome pulling a 20 foot car hauling trailer. Are any of the spaces long enough for us or is there a place to drop our trailer at? Which loop is it that has the large spaces? Thanks a head of time for all your help and advice.

I'm not too sure any of the spaces are that long. Your best bet is to leave the car hauler in the overflow lot located as you come in to Fort Wilderness. Keep in mind the Fort was built MANY years ago and even the new premium sites can be a tight squeeze.

Is the overflow area inside the fence or outside? Our last trip was in 2006 and we had a 5th wheel at that time and this motorhome is all new to me. Trying to figure out if we should bring the truck or just rent a car if we want to go someplace sight seeing. Thanks for your help!!

The overflow area is at the main entrance to FW. It can be accessed at the second entrance marked Pioneer Hall without going through the guard shack so I assume this is what you mean by 'outside the fence.' The lot is used for excess trailers and cars that will not fit on the current sites.

Just be sure that you get a parking pass for the trailer if you leave it there. Fort management gets very unhappy when people leave "unauthorized" stuff in the overflow lot. I saw lots of trailers with passes zip tied to them when we were there in November.

Not sure if you're going to have much luck finding a site that will fit 54'+ feet of trailer and your car, but we are usually in 300, which is still a Preferred loop without as much pavement as the Premiums. Maybe some folks with big rigs will know better.

The site we had in November (334) was what I considered to be relatively long compared to most I've seen. End-to-end we fit a 9'x12' pen for the dogs (12' lengthwise), our hybrid TT which is 30' open, our Ford Explorer and we had just enough room to squeeze the golf cart cross ways in front if we wanted to, without it hanging out in the road.

Do you know if there is a charge for parking there? Thanks for your information.

When I was asking about the new sites a year or so ago disney claimed that the have sites as long as 65 feet.
Dont know if it is true, but that was what I was told.
I know when I was in the 800 loop there was room for the bus and a honda civic rental but that was about all.

No charge to park your trailers in overflow for resort guests.

Even though the lots may be bigger you would be very crowded to try and get your coach and a 20' trailer in a lot. You will see many trailers parked in the overflow lot, we leave our 7x10 enclosed trailer out there every trip. It's true, you will need to ask for a trailer parking permit to leave your trailer in the lot. When you get to FW, go right into the overflow lot and drop your trailer. ( Can you unload the trailer without it being hooked to the coach? If not, unload it before unhooking. ) Make sure you have a ball lock or a tongue lock to make the trailer a little more secure. We have gone so far as to buy a wheel boot ( locks around the tire so it can't be moved ) for a little more piece of mind. Then drive around to the check in building. Be sure to ask for a car pass and well as the trailer parking permit.

Thank you all for your great advice!! We are getting so excided about our
2nd trip to WDW. Can't wait, Thanks again everyone!!

What brand of shoe horn did you use?

We have a 36' moho and pull a car hauler trailer that's about 20'. We haven't had any trouble getting our trailer onto a site. I believe most all the premium sites would be no problem. Just let the office know your length.

Disconnect the trailer and push it as far back on the site as you can get it - then turn it sideways. (Only about 8.5' wide if you turn it). Then back the MH in. You should be okay doing that.

My DH refuses to leave our trailer in the overflow lot. We've known a couple of people who have had their utility trailers stolen from there - despite having a hitch lock or chained to something.

In fact, there are a good many sites over 65' long... 13 of the 33 sites in 400 are 65' or longer, for instance. Also, 25 of 56 sites in 500. I will be publishing more of such data in the coming months, but for now I can assure you that there are lots of 65'+ sites.

Great thanks--I'm hoping today to be able to look at the park by the google earth map and look around. Thanks again for all the help. June will be here before we know it. I can't wait!!!:dance3:

LOL ;)

We did feel like we had a ton of room in this site - even with the small city we setup! The paved part of the site was pretty darned long compared to most in 300, and the sand pad was probably 15x15 at least. Plus is "felt" big because we had so much space between us and our neighbors - thanks to being on the tighter part of the curve and that awesome Cypress tree.

We had plenty of room for the picnic table next to the pen, and for our lounge chairs and DH's ice maker under the awning. It was a comfy 3 weeks. :thumbsup2
