My vote is for Captain Cooks at the Poly also. Sometimes, even now, a year later, my mouth waters for it! This is one of the things I am looking forward to when we get there!! I have read about Flame Tree also and will be giving that one a try on our upcomming trip.
Oh my goodness, what a response!! Thanks everyone
So I was already going to try the one at Captain's Cook, the pineapple coconut roll hooked me and since Flame Tree got so many votes I'll be telling DH that's where we will be eating at the AK!! Thanks everyone, I'm so excited and hungry. I just got home and best make my supper before I eat the keyboard!!
For some reason DH and I were on a "pig sandwich" quest on our trip last January. LOL
We found great pulled pork sandwiches at ESPN and Big River Brewery at the Boardwalk and a delicious one at the Flame Tree BBQ/Animal Kingdom. IMHO the best we had was the ESPN one but all were very very tasty!
(and I think we had them at several other locations too, but these places really stood out to us!)
With them offered at so many places...pulled pork is most likely made in their central commissary and then distributed every morning to each of the above restaurants ...with some differences in the final touchs of how it is served.
I wouldn't think so, ESPN and Big River Grill are not run by disney simliar to many EPCOT restaurants. I'm not sure whether Flame Tree is a disney owned operation. I'd love to know if anyone could add insight on the central commissary, someone who attended the college program must know a little.
I would guess its offered at many places as it is so cheap to prepare, I pay around $1.29lb, I could only imagine what the buying power of these places purchase it for.
My vote goes to Flame Tree. I love Pulled Pork, and Flame Tree is the one I can still taste when I close my eyes. the sauce is unique and excellent as well.
