Pulldown beds - how to let the host know

hi, cruising on the Dream for the first time next week with DH and our 4 children. We made reservations for 2 connecting staterooms (family with veranda) and assigned me and 2 kids to one and DH and 2 kids to the other.

I verified the best I could by playing with dummy cruise bookings, reading reviews, etc that the one room sleeps five. Our plan is for me and DH to sleep in the one room, kids in the other.

How do I let the stateroom host know what beds we want made up? In the kids room I want the Murphy bed, the couch, and the pull down all made up so that each child has their own sleeping space. But in our room, nothing needs to be done.

Will the stateroom host come to the room the first afternoon and introduce themselves? Or is there a number to call? I'm sure I will figure it out once on board, but looking to save the host some trouble and honestly I'm just excited and a bit of an overplanner/thinker.

Just tell them .

You will be able to meet them the first day.

Yes, they usually try to introduce themselves to you before the muster drill on embarkation day to see if you have any special requests, like setting up the bunk beds or removing the partition between the verandas. Odds are, you will bump into them in the hallway as you get settled into your rooms.

If you miss them for whatever reason, just leave them a note in plain view about the beds, or call housekeeping and put in the request.

we are doing the exact same thing next month- want all the beds in one room for the 4 kids, but in ours nothing.

If you don't see them until after dinner that first night (which has happened to us with all the busyness of a cruise), just talk to them whenever you see them in the hall. They will redo the bed situation however you want. It's really no problem.

Not trying to ambush your thread but I have a question along these same lines. The couch makes out into a bed so will they remove the little table thats in front of it?

The table will still be there. The mattress is in the back section of the couch and flips down. It doesn't "Pull out" like a sofa-sleeper. The footprint of the couch doesn't change when it is converted to a bed.

Did you confirm that the "kids" room will have the beds that you want? Your reservation will show 3 passengers in each room, so you may not have the pull down in that room. Our SR only had the couch bed and our DD was super bummer because she wanted the "bunk bed" and we hoped to use the couch bed to spread out a bit.

I did... As much as I could figure out how. As I mentioned, I searched stateroom reviews that said the one room slept 5, and the other only slept 3. (We have rooms 7612 and 7614 on the Dream if someone happens to know). Also, I went onto the DCL website to book a book a cruise with 4 passengers and one of our rooms came up as an option, but the other didn't unless I dropped it to 3 passengers. Other suggestions to verify?

We take sticky notes and put a note on the mirror. We have 2 rooms with 4 kids also and sometimes it would change how we wanted the beds made up (sometimes one of the boys would want to sleep with is. We just put a note on the mirrors letting them how we wanted the beds made up. We did he same thing if we wanted a bucket of ice.

We have a similar issue. We only have three kids but did our best to book a room for them that has the pull down so they could each have their own bed. I spent hours searching the internet, I booked dummy cruises, I asked my disney travel agent. And honestly I have been unable to get a definitive answer. Sooo irritating!

And this is on the Magic. After 18 years you'd think someone would be able to say for sure which rooms have pulls down bunks and which do not!!

They will come find you on the first day to introduce themselves, and they'll ask what beds you want made up. We actually changed this mid-cruise on our last trip, because the friend who was sleeping on the sofa didn't know about the hidden mural above the pull down bed and wanted to check that out one night. The stateroom hosts are always super accommodating!

7612 sleeps 4 with a ceiling pull down
7614 sleeps 5 with ceiling pull down and a wall murphy.
