We are visiting for the first time this summer in a 2 bedroom (cash booking, so I assume a dedicated 2 bedroom). I am reading on the Aulani site that the living room has a pull out sofa and a pull out chair. But I swear I've read on here that the pull out bed (in addition to the pull out couch) is some kind of Murphy bed?? And the pictures on the Aulani site of the living room show two chairs that certainly aren't the fold out type! Help!

  • 1 king bed in master bedroom
2 queen beds in second bedroom
1 queen sleeper sofa and 1 sleeper chair in living room
Bathrooms

    1 half bathroom
Room Size
  • 1,125 sq ft (105 sq m)

I wonder if it really means a single bed pull-down under the TV, like the 1-bedrooms have? Sorta Murphy like, but out of a flat cabinet rather than the wall itself, like they use in WDW resorts too. I had SUCH a hard time figuring out where the second bed in the living room for a 1 bedroom was until I googled for photos of it. The floor plans they post on the Aulani site aren't helpful in that regard. I'm sure someone here will know for sure, but that's what I'm guessing the second bed is in the living room. It would be odd for them to have different types of furniture for the villas.

I agree that I think it would be the same in a 2 bedroom villa, but I want to be sure and I want to prepare my kids for the sleeping arrangements. If anyone can shed some light?

The dedicated two bedroom villa has a sleeper sofa and a sleeper chair. The lock-off two bedroom has a sleeper sofa and a pull-down bed under the TV. The pull-down is not a full size twin bed and is suitable for a young person probably around 12-14 years or younger or a small adult.

BobNeb has it right - Dedicated 2 bdrm has the chair, Lock off has the murphy bed (because the 1 bdrms have that and the lock off is essentially a 1 bdrm with a hotel room).

We are also booked in a 2 bedroom villa paying cash. How do you know if you are getting a dedicated 2 bedroom or a lock off? Just curious. Thanks! Great question twodogs =)

I was pleasantly surprised how comfortable the pull out beds were in the dedication 2 bdrm. They are nice thick foam mattresses. I wish I could find something similar in my home so that guest would be more comfortable than a traditional pull out or air mattress. Not only were they fine for kids, but would have been fine for anyone. Have a great time, we love Aulani.

You will have a dedicated. Unless you specifically request a lock-off you get a dedicated. Your confirmation would say if it were a lock-off.

Fantastic, thank you! Reservation says 2 bedroom villa. SO excited =) Love this board, so many wonderful people helping each other:goodvibes

i JUST got off the phone with DVC about a dedicated 2-bedroom villa. the guy said that the single bed pull down under the TV is not available in a 2-bedroom villa. he said that is in the 1-bedroom villa.

your description above matches exactly what we are reserved for in december (2-bedroom villa).

I kind of remember seeing pics of the convertible pull out chair/bed over on the DVC trip reports. It has stayed with me because I remember thinking 1) it was unique and b) my kids would love that. I will see if I can find that report...

This is from TripAdvisor but if you look at the review, these people stayed in a 2 bedroom

Y'all are the BEST!!! Thank you for all of the help! Our reservation just says 2 bedroom villa, so I guess it is dedicated, and we will have the pull-out chair. That is great, as we used that at AKL and BLT, so she loves it. Good to know that if for some reason they are overbooked and we end up in a lock-off, the pull down bed will work for her too (she will be almost 11). Thanks again for the fast, and detailed, responses all!!!
