What is a not-to-be-missed experience at this port??? Who has been there and what do you recommend???

Puerta vallarta

Never been, but researching on the internet. Lots of different things at each port to do, but thought if I read up, by the time DCL decides what to offer we might be able to choose better.

I was looking at the canopy tours, they look fairly intense (riding cables through the trees?) Has anyone tried this, how tough is it?

A couple of years ago my DH and I went on the Las Caletas tour while on our Princess cruise. We enjoyed it. It's a nice boat ride over to a beach where everything is included in the price. They had kayaking, hikes, cooking demonstration, drinks and food and usually snorkeling and swimming. We were unable to swim because of jellyfish in the water and you could see them while we were kayaking. My husband still talks about what a JOY I was to kayak with because I was afraid he was going to dump us in the water!!:earseek: I guess that ranks up there to when we were in Grand Cayman and he got to snorkel with me on his back. (Those stingray are HUGE!!) Anyway it was a nice day at the beach and we plan to do the same in July with our kids!!

My parents have a time share in PV. It's been many years since we've been there , but we once took the Bora Bora cruise. It was a large trimiran (sp?) that went to los arcos and Mislamoia beach. While you snorkel or lounge they prepared lunch for the cruise back. I found a web site on google for it. It was a very fun time !!

I stayed at an all inclusive in PV. If you are a beach person I would go to Las Caletas. It is beautiful and many serene spots where you can find a hammock and hang out. I went scuba diving there, great place to see a lot of fish. They have the best margaritas and limeades. We were there when the whales where there so we took a boat tour around and watched the whales, absolutely amazing.

They have Mexican margaritas,........hmmmmmm tough choice!!
