Pubs/Bars on International Drive

Even though we have been to Orlando many times, we have rarely ventured onto International Drive.

As DD will be 21 when we are there, she would like to try one or two bars on International Drive - we are staying at a Universal hotel, Cabana Bay without a car. Wet and Wild end of I Drive would be preferred - but will go further afield as long as the trolley bus can take us there!

Have you got any recommendations? Doesn't matter whether they are British or American pubs - quite lively but no so that two 50 years olds would be too out of place (with a 21 yo) !!

Thanks but we are staying at Universal so will be visiting Citywalk a few times - have been there several times but not when DD has been old enough to drink - did you visit the karaoke bar on Citywalk - if so was it any good?

One night also though we would like to go to a few bars on International Drive if you have any recommendations for somewhere on there? We went to Chili's restaurant once and would like to go back because we enjoyed it so thought we could go somewhere after that.

Miller's Ale House - huge sports bar, cheap n cheerful; probably your best bet
Tin Roof (brand new)
I Love This Bar (brand new) - nearest Universal
Brick House Tavern
Marlow's Tavern (a bit more expensive, great craft beers and wines)

A bit different: Dave & Busters (games and bar); ICEBAR (expensive!); King's Bowling; Howl at the Moon piano bar

Chilli's, along with other similar restaurants such as TGIs, have bars so you can stay after your meal. Some have late night (10pm or later) happy hours which can be good value. Some have a jukebox or live music.

There are several UK/Irish bars - we have never been, not our idea of fun on holiday!

Trolley will run to all of these and plenty of cabs available if needed - will cost $10-15 for the furthest bars.

If your daughter is not used to drinking in the US, it might be worth reminding her that it's usual to tip a few dollars on each round (usually $1 per drink unless you're getting something particularly complicated, in which case up it!).

Just a thought: if your daughter has just turned 21 and is lucky enough to look young, make sure she takes ID with her. Have a wonderful time. I so looked forward to taking my daughter round the bars, but she has never been interested and to this day doesn't drink!

We always make a visit to Millers ale house (usually the one on the 192, but have been to the one on ID many times) but it's at the other end of ID to you, another place we like is wild wings, they also have one on ID.

Great - thank you all for the ideas - I will do a bit of research on those. I will make sure I take passports out for all of us - even myself and my DH have been challenged in the past - not that we look young or anything. lol
