Publix Thanksgiving dinner $46 vs. $125 from Disney HHI resort.

I think Disney's turkeys are deep fried in peanut oil which is a treat if you haven't had it before. I remember sitting in the hot tub one year breathing in the aroma of dozens of them frying at once.

I ordered from Kenny B's restaurant, the meal is $107. We had this a couple of years ago and it is FANTASTIC!!! Tons of food, choice of fried turkey or roasted (we chose the fried), and among other things also includes choice of she-crab soup or gumbo. When you pick everything up on Thanksgiving Day (you choose the time you want) it is hot and ready to serve, no need to reheat like the Publix meal (not to say it's bad, we've done the Publix meal in Orlando and enjoyed it, but given a choice I'll pick Kenny B's any day).

Does Publix deliver a holiday dinner to Walt Disney World? I would love to have one delivered to SSR in December.

Deb

Publix does not deliver but wegoshopping probably would. You would have to take delivery Wednesday because Publix is closed on Thanksgiving.

Anyone going to HHI for Thanksgiving might want to check out the link to Publix that shows their Holiday meal pricing.

The mailer from Disney's HHI resort offers a similar sized meal for almost TRIPLE the price!

I think I'll be ordering our meal from Publix!

That DOES look like a nice deal.

Let us know what you thought of the meal when you... Hey, wait a minute... HHI is free wireless now, you can do a Thanksgiving live from HHI webcam, and let us see real time how you are enjoying the meal :thumbsup2

Publix is excellent, and reasonably/realistically priced. Disney is not - as much as I love dvc & Disney, their meal prices are almost insulting. :confused3 I look at a menu and wonder who on earth would be stupid enough to pay them, and then I see the hordes of people turned away because they didn't make ADRs. I do enjoy my Disney meals, but luckily I don't eat the quantity of food that comes in a full meal there, so I'm happy with appetizer/wine/dessert. The entree prices are what really stand out as being excessive in many of the restaurants.

Remember Disney down in FL charges everyone an extra $4 or $5 per buffet meal during Thanksgiving week for no other reason than they can...people will still line up with their wallets open no matter how high the price goes. So, it's a good revenue producer for them - smart business :thumbsup2 Just not so good for their guests :confused3
