Hi all. Heading to Anaheim for a conference this spring. I am looking to take public transit to a beach. I live on the Atlantic so a quick visit to the Pacific is a bucket list thing for me. I know the trip is long but have a day to use when not going to DL and CA.

My question is - has anyone done this? Advice on the buses or train lines to use?

Thanks.

Amtrak will bring you directly to San Clemente Pier, which is one of the better spots to be at. This will be the easiest way to get to the beach. All of the southern beach communities have free trollies (weekends year round and daily in summer), so it’s very easy to explore the area.

Find men of the discount codes on Amtraks offer page to Disneyland or the San Diego Zoo - it’ll work anywhere on the Surfline. Final cost will be $25 RT.

Just Uber to Huntington Beach or Newport Beach. PT takes forever, most of the buses stop frequently. Amtrak (including a bus to the station, walk to the pier) to San Clemente will take you 2.5hrs each way. Uber to Newport Beach will take 30 mins.

Agree on Uber or Lyft to Huntington or Newport. Those are the classic California beach experience beaches and a quick trip from Anaheim.
