Pub Master Jay

My family and I absolutely loved PubMaster Jay! :thumbsup2, and my DW has written rave reviews on him for the 2x cruises that we have done with him. (And everyone that we ever spoke to said the same.) Not calling into question your sources, but are you 100% sure he is no longer with DCL? :confused3 What could he have done to get the heave / ho?
We'll happily join the writing campaign :surfweb: , but want to ensure that he has definitely left? When we spoke to him in November, he had hopes of promotion on up the ladder, and certainly no intentions of leaving DCL.

So I've heard the pub master Jay isn't working with DCL anymore. So everyone write DCL or e-mail or do both and tell them to bring back Jay, because he was pretty much of of the best Cast Members on the ships. So I want everyone to do this.:goodvibes

Thanks A Bunch

Wow, pubmaster Jay. Hope is is as good as pubmaster Rich was! That would be hard to beat.

While Jay was on the Dec 20th sailing, I heard yesterday from someone who has contact with him personally that he was no longer with DCL - it was a sudden thing and I don't have details of what happened or didn't - but they weren't sure if he was let go or what on the Dec. 27th sailing or the Jan. 4th sailing. So if someone from one of those two sailings could confirm his presence or absence, that might help for those who want to share their positive experiences with regard to Jay with DCL.

The person I heard this from told me that they spoke directly to Jay very recently. I have no details other than he was hoping people could sing his praises to DCL.
thanks for the support of JAY

that might help for those who want to share their positive experiences with regard to Jay with DCL.

I have a positive experience with Jay. The first night of the cruise in July during the college club social meeting him. He was awesome from the start of the cruise and everytime I saw him around the ship he would say hey and asked how my cruise was going and would give me a high five. Then of course the first night when we needed points for the game in Rockin' Bar D(can't remember the name of it)he helpped us with some of the things

I saw Jay the night before we disembarked on 1/3... he seemed happy and upbeat. So- if he's left, it's indeed very recent and very sudden.

well I guess it was sudden then, because I talk to him. But thanks for the info

Just who was/is Pub Master Jay? I do not remember him from any of my cruises.

Rob

I was wondering the same thing. Then again, if "pubmaster" has something to do with being in a bar, I wouldn't have run into him. Just what does a Pubmaster do? :confused3

I've met 3 three pubmasters and I don't even know what they really do, I know all them have been at the college club social on the first night of the cruise and have hungout with us most of the nights on the ship so

if it was that sudden, then perhaps Jay violated some important DCL policy (perhaps something like consuming alchohol while "on stage" or having improper relationship with a guest)

Maybe there was a misunderstanding or personality conflict (maybe no fault of his own??) Haven't we all had a situation where we had a boss who was less then ideal? Does he handle cash? maybe there was a shortage in his drawer? I don't know, just considering all the potential scenarios. It just amazes me. He was so very well liked. No one had anything bad to say about him- well maybe just one??? I guess that's all you need?

Anyway- keep your emails going. If enough people write to DCL, maybe they'll reevaluate the situation.

WOW....we has a couple brief encounters with him on the Christmas Cruise. We don't run or drink, so our interactions were around the Steelers. Just last night DH & I said that when the Steelers beat Baltimore, that we were going to send him a shirt. DH gave him a conference championship hat on the cruise.

He was wonderful and friendly!

Sure, I don't mind sending a note.

The story is we had a conversation with him about how he has been a Steeler fan since he was young. We saw him at a church service and DH gave him the hat when we were leaving the theater.

Later he approached us, thank us again and asked our cabin number.

Later that evening, we had a very nice thank you note from him in the room.

All unexpected! Everytime we would see him after that, he called us by name and thanked us again.

I sent the note!

Pretty sad.

My wife and I are currently scheduled to sail on the Magic 4/4/09.

We specifically booked the cruise based on experiences with severel cast members. We are traveling alone as a young married couple and always look foward to seeing the familiar faces.

One of those is Jay. If there is no shot at seeing these "old friends," it makes it more difficult for use to want to travel on such a family based ship. Even though we love Disney, there are many more, less expensive options for folks in our demographic.

As dopey as it seems, we always feel like we are with friends and family due to folks like Jay.

I've sent a note off to DCL. :thumbsup2 Fingers crossed, I hope it will help.

He's a great guy, and I have every hope that he'll be on board when we cruise over X-Mas / New Year 2009 / 2010! pixiedust:

experiences with Cast members is why I keep going back to DCL, I've made so many friends on and off the ship that I still keep in touch with meaning people who work or worked on the ship or people just traveling. All great people and I couldn't agree more feeling like friends and family due to all of them:goodvibes
