PTR turned TR for the most magical and expensive vacation I've ever been on!

so apparently I left off at Day 2. I'm bored as hell at work AND I have my passporter's book with me so I can write up my report for you guys!

Day 3 - Christmas Day!

We got up nice and early, 6:30am to be exact. There is no time to waste on one of the biggest days of the year to attend MK. Yes, we were that crazy.
We arrive at the TTC at 7:45 and stood in the crowd anxiously awaiting the grand opening of the gates. A CM worked the crowd a little bit and then POOF off to the races! Onto the monorail and into MK!

It's funny, looking back at my notes this was probably the most frustrating day we had. Not because of the parks necessarily, just cuz of stuff that happened. We had hit many of the rides on the 23rd, which I wasn't really expecting. Since we were able to get on so many, we didn't have much left to do on Xmas. We ended up going on the less popular rides in an effort to do as much as possible. It was sunny for the first part of the day, but then clouded over. We got a seat on the curb for the xmas parade a good hour and a half ahead of time. We decided on lunch, so I went over to the Terrace noodle station to get food. What a NIGHTMARE! I kid you not, I waited 45 MINUTES(might have even been more) for what is supposed to be quick service! There were some windows moving really fast and some really slow. Now I am a very patient person especially when attendance is high, but it was clear to me this wasn't the result of lots of people in line as much as it was a lack of coordination and possibly staffing inside the noodle station. One lady who was in the line next to me(also moving slow) requested a refund cuz it was taking so long. A manager had to come out to issue the refund...ouch!

I didn't have much to do other than wait for the parade anyway, so I stayed in line and finally got my food. I sat down with DBF to eat and finally was able to fill my stomach. Luckily I wasn't really really hungry or I would have been much more impatient!

So we waited and it started to sprinkle. aawww that sux, no one likes rain on xmas(though it is better than snow :rotfl2: ) As the xmas parade approached us, a double rainbow appeared in the sky. Somehow that just made everything right again. I've never seen a double rainbow in my life and it just happens to come on xmas day right as the parade is reaching main street. Funny how things work isn't it?

So interesting things to note: the TTA and Splash mountain both broke down. We figure there was some kind of major water problem because the big ball in Tomorrowland wasn't floating but had been on earlier in the day.

We enjoyed the parade for our second time and continued around MK. I did managed to get DBF to go on splash mountain. Apparently gay people melt when wet, but I convinced him he wouldn't get wet(typically you don't) Needless to say, he got wet :rotfl: It was well worth the effort to get him on the ride tee hee
We ended up leaving at 5pm and returned to our hotel to relax. We layed low and ate at the hotel that night.

Btw we got a chance to try our Anniversary cake from Vic and A's - omg amazing! That was one of the best, if not THE best cakes I've ever had.

Day 4 - MGM!

Got to sleep in a little more on our MGM day(it was MGM at the time so I'm gonna call it that)

woke up at 9, headed to MGM at 10:15. We had some McDonalds fries and a pretzel for a light lunch at noon. We were able to get on the big ticket attractions and make the best use of our time. DBF is a big Muppets fan, so we really enjoyed that together. I personally love that show. Heck the pre-show is almost better than the show itself!

We had dinner at Hollywood and Vine as part of the Fantasmic dinner package. I was excited for the whole thing because I hate waiting in line for Fantasmic. The food was ok - typical for a buffet I guess. It was a nice selection and we at at 3:30 so the food was nice and fresh. We were treated to a free desert of chocolate covered strawberries. I made sure every ADR we had was marked as our anniversary hehe.

We spent quite a bit of time in a store right at the entrance that has all kinds of autographed stuff from movie stars. I didn't even know it existed, but it was quite fascinating! We rode the Tower of Terror twice, hit up RNRC, the Great Movie Ride(may it never close), and whatever else we could find time for. I STILL have not seen the Indiana Jones show...dangit! That is top of my list on my trip in June.

We had to be at the entrance for Fantasmic at 6:00 or so. Although you don't have to wait in line and get great seats, you end up sitting on those hard seats for 1.5hrs. I kept myself busy with my always troubling Rubic's cube. I didn't realize we'd be able to get seats so early and that most people wouldn't come for the reserved seats until 7ish, so that's my mistake. Live and learn!!

After Fantasmic I believe we went back to the hotel. We might have made a visit to DTD or PI. My notes have become more and more vague each day, so I'm pulling from my memory here!

So how early would you say to start lining up for Fantasmic? My BF and I are going this Sept as well and we have the dinner package.

in Sept there should be no problem. You can get there 30 min before the show and easily find a seat. Even with the promotions they do, there is no way it will be as busy as Xmas week hehe.

I just found your TR and I love it! It looks like you had an amazing time :)

I was looking at the photopass pics and I saw that your bf was wearing a Blue Stars jacket. I think the patches looked like they were from 06...? That's awesome, I have a handful of friends that march there (I was in another Wisco corps for 4 years) and my roommate actually marched there in 06! They may even know each other, small world, huh?

he marched 06 and I marched 04. Who is your roommate? I'm sure he knows her

My roommate is actually a guy... Phil Thompson. He played baritone. I actually just asked him if he knew him and he said he remembered both of you : )

Love your report. Takes a while to look at all the pictures..........:surfweb: :rotfl2: Your pictures are great. How was the cake? We ordered a birthday cake at The Plaza(I think it was delivered from the GF) and it was the most horrible cake I have ever eaten. I have a more extensive review on my TR...............:lmao:
