PTR for the planning obsessed....Updated 11/5 We're home now.

Love the bag! I am on the lookout for a new bag for us to carry in the parks. Are you using that bag in the parks as well?

Probably, unless DH finds a backpack that he really likes. He's been using my Fischer ski backpack as our park bag but it has a lot of straps and not enough smaller pockets to help locate things easily.

I am caught up. Vacationing really wreaks havoc on keeping up with the DIS.

I am extremely jealous that you have a picture with Fieval. I love Fieval!

Also, I can not believe you were in an elevator with Punky Brewster!!! :cloud9: I would have freaked.

I love the croc bag, I am not happy with the overland donner bag that I brought on the cruise. The strap cut into my neck though it was big enough. I have to do some research on this croc bag and the baggelini. I think DH will kill me if I tell him I want another bag. :lmao:

I have a lot of catching up to do here too!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your bag! Great color! I have a wide screen laptop and hate the Dell bag. I may have to invest in a Crocs bag too.

Your son is sooooo adorable!

That is a great-looking bag! :thumbsup2
Thanks....I posted so many pictures because none of the online stores showed the inside of the bag.

Fieval! That's his name...couldn't think of it. There is a Fieval playground area at one of the Universal parks in Orlando.
I don't like the looks of the baggelini. I'll let you know how the Crocs bag performs once I take it out of the house!

That bag is too cute! :goodvibes
Thank you...just like shoes you can never have too many bags!

Hey Jenn....haven't seen you since Bret Michael's got a new weave! I never got a bag for my laptop (Dell too). I think this Crocs bag will be perfect for the laptop and everything else that I have to shlep around.

Heidi - When are you planning to purchase your park tickets? Just as an FYI - prices usually go up in August. Last year we bought our October tickets at the end of July and saved some money. I was trying to convince DH that we should buy park tickets now for next spring... that idea didn't fly with him! Oh well - can't blame a DISer for trying! :rolleyes1

Lucky for me we don't need park tickets...for this trip or the next. On the last two Disney vacations (2005 and 2007) I bought 10 day MYW with water parks with the no expiry option added. I did this because I knew we wouldn't have the money for them since I no longer work full time...and because Disney tickets never go on sale....the price only goes up and up and up. (Although I don't think the prices will go up that much this year because of the slow down in tourism). So I am currently holding 11 park days each (9 of which are hoppers) and 10 water park tickets each. We will use 5-6 theme park tickets and 1-2 water park tickets this trip. But thank you for the thought and it's a get reminder for everyone else. AP's too, I think they historically go up in price in August.

Instead of buying your tickets now, I would take that money and put in 9 month CD. Then use the interest money to buy yourself something fun at the World of Disney....or Basin!

I just checked the Crocs website and saw a cute backpack too. Hmmmm I think today will be a shopping day!

I have to get a wig for a 70s theme birthday party on 8/2. I wonder if Bret has something suitable.

Oh that's right... I forgot you already had tickets. I'm hoping the current economic conditions cause Disney to decide not to raise ticket prices much. I know what you are saying about a 9 month CD - but I'm better off to send that money to our credit card. We haven't used it in over 6 months (probably since last October's trip or Christmas), but it does still have a balance on it. I think that is how I am going to convince DH to go back in the spring - paying for it without using a credit card!

I love your new bag - I was checking out those Crocs bags before my April trip. The lining is kind of funky - but that's ok. Love the lime green! :disrocks: Are you planning to stash that in your stroller - it seems a little big to carry around all day. We always bring one bag that doesn't contain anything very valuable and just leave it in the stroller the whole time. I carry a smaller bag (or fanny pack:scared1:) with the valuables in it.

Ah yes....much better to pay down debt then a CD. I almost have all the money saved for vacation. I have a separate account for vacation money...that way it doesn't get spent on the PSNH bill. My bookkeeping job is where most of it comes from. Makes it easiler to do quarterlies knowing that it's for Disney!
I think we'll know in a month or so where prices are going at WDW. I'm thinking that there will be resort deals (which doesn't help you) at all but the holiday periods from October to April.

The lining is more then funky....it's fugly! But you can't see it when the bag is closed. The crocs bag will not be staying in the stroller....it's too nice and I'm afraid it would walk. Our plan is to only keep things in the stroller that I wouldn't be upset if it got "lost". I picked up a $3 beach chair organizer at Wal-mart the other day that I think will work for the stroller for some extra storage. I'll post pictures once I use it. We have always carried a park bag on the rides with us....small bag for me...big backpack for DH so it think we'll actually get away with just taking one with us. I'm planning a few more family outings before the trip so we can work out some of these things. Better to fuss around with it at the country fair then at Disney.

Love the bag with all the nifty little spots inside!!! :thumbsup2
More places to keep all my plans!!!

I think Kids Inc started on NBC or some other network...got canceled and Disney picked it up.

We were only at the theme parks at night by ourselves.....believe me were were plenty scared on that cab ride back to the house.

I'm still scared going in a cab....

Great, GREAT! Bag....that is really funky, love all the spots to put stuff...that will be a well used buy.

The bag debate for the parks, huh:confused3 DH & I had the same convo before we left on this trip. In 05 we had everything in a super hike style backpack and carried it w/ us on everything....(well actually DH)

this year, we had multi bags and it worked way better for us. Like AMY, we stashed one bag (that I actually bought down there, for $5.95 and it folds back up into it's own little carry-on pouch :cool1: We kept the rain ponchos, snacks, autograph books, and misc things in there. Then I used Margaret's diaper bag as her diaper bag and that hung on the back, which we left parked with the stroller too....a few times when I knew it be parked long I put it in the seat and flipped her towel shade over it. It was nice to just have her bag for going into resturants...didn't have the other park stuff to shuffle w/

Then all the important valuables were in my VB backsack.

That's just us....

Do you bring your son's stroller? Or do you rent one?

In January, we brought my nephew's Maclaren and will probably bring it again. But it is tempting just to rent one.

I'm doing a little tote bag just for diaper changes. It will have sunblock, rash creme, wipes and a ziplock bag with a diaper, 2 paper towels and a disposable changing pad in it. I need diaper changes to be quick and easy.

Yes we will bring our own stroller. DS is too little for a park stroller....plus have you seen the new prices for rentals? Way too much money. I am toying with the idea of trying to find a used stroller to take with us. Our stroller is part of a travel system....so it if gets ruined for some reason then it won't work with the car seat for the next baby.

We bought a yard sale double stroller and used that when we went in 06. It worked out well and did sustain some damage. I would highly recommend NOT bringing your good stroller.

Did it get damaged on the plane?

You guessed it! It wasn't broken beyond use, but I would have been upset if it were my good stroller. I think the cup holder broke off (we were able to snap it back on, but the plastic was broken in one spot) and I think that was the one that had the plastic piece break off that holds the stroller closed?? Or maybe it was broken off from another trip because I think that part was broken before we even left? :confused3

Another suggestion... you know those little velcro straps that they make to bundle wires together behind your computer/tv, etc.? Bring some of those along to velcro the stroller closed real good - that's what we ended up having to do. Another thing we used to do is buy some wrist straps and use them to attach the sippy cups to the stroller. I think we got them at Shaw's (our grocery store for anyone outside of New England) - they have a handle at one end, sort of like a leash, and a velcro strap at the other that you can attach to a child's wrist. We looped them around themselves to attach to the stroller and then used the velcro end to attach around the cup. That way if a cup dropped, we wouldn't lose it. We used to use them all the time!
