PTR: Congratulations!! Start Planning your Vacation!! Surprise we are going to WDW

Day #5 – Feb 4/13 – Epcot Day

Yahoo… second park day!

We will start with an ADR with the princesses at Akershus for 8:10am.

akershus_zps9f55e8a5.jpg

After breakfast we will head to my DS’s other favourite ride Test Track. Ride it then get fast passes to ride again later. After that we will go to Soarin’ then Spaceship Earth which is one of my DD favourite rides. By then our fast passes should be ready to return so back to Test Track.

Disney2009334_zps8c551852.jpg

very old picture of the kids in front of test track, 2009. Man they look so little :worried: where did the time go.

Other rides we will go to:
Figment, Turtle Talk with Crush, The Seas with Nemo, Maelstrom, and Gran Fiesta Tour. We may go to Mission: Space but I am not a fan of this ride. I don’t know why but it’s the only ride that I end up getting a headache afterwards.

We will probably have lunch sometime in between the rides at Sunshine Seasons.

ss_zps11e45734.jpg

After lunch and maybe some more rides we will head to the World Showcase and visit some Kidcot stations. The kids really enjoy colouring a mask or Duffy (whichever they offer this year). We must likely do a Phineas and Ferb Challenge or two. My kids really enjoyed Kim Possible.

We have an ADR at Rose & Crown for 7:45pm to be able to watch Illuminations from the restaurant. Hopefully it is not too cold out because we would like to sit on the patio to get a good view of the fireworks.

This day will be a full day at the park. After we will go back to the resort and probably crash.

Continued in next post...

Day #6 – Feb 5/13

Today is yet another relaxing, “winging it” resort day.

We can get up whenever we feel like it today. Maybe join in on the activities that are going on around the resort. If the weather is nice do some more swimming.

Not sure where we will have lunch today, maybe at another resort, maybe at our resort or maybe at DTD. Any more suggestions you have for a QS lunch would be great???

Today is kind of a boring day to report about. We don’t have any plans except an ADR at Sanaa for supper. I am really looking forward to eating here. I have heard nothing but good things about this restaurant. I really hope they don’t mind letting my 10year old DD eat off the kids menu though. She is a really picky eater and there will be nothing that she would eat here.

sanaa_zpsfd5d7fba.jpg

After supper we have no plans so maybe just relax in our room, let the kids play with their toys I am sure they would have purchased by now. And maybe my DH and I can enjoy a drink on the balcony.

This trip is really a mix of relaxation and busy long days at the parks. I am not 100% it will turn out that way but I am hoping.

Up next... after all this relaxation, what to do for our last four days...ummm...

Ooooh, Illuminations from R&C! I have always wanted to try that out! I LOVE that you are doing 11 days but only 5 day park tickets. If I had 11 days to vacation at Disney, this is how I would do it! Most people say they need a vacation AFTER their vacation to Disney and I think you guys won't feel that way, it sounds like you can really go all day on your park days, knowing that the next day you will get to relax. It sounds fantastic! :goodvibes

I know... a guaranteed place to sit and watch the fireworks! :3dglasses
I planned it that way hoping we can get some relaxation in there to come back to work rested, but yet have had some fun too. That is why we go for longer periods of time and also because we live far away I feel we have to make the trip worth our while.
Thanks for agreeing. Some people think we are nuts to be at Disney and not be in the parks, but I enjoy to be able to visit other resorts and to be able to spend time at the pools at our resort. Best of both worlds. :thumbsup2

joining in late, but excited to be here! :thumbsup2

Awesome! Thanks for joining along! :wave2:

Count me in!!

Awesome! Welcome :wave2:

Before I start with our plan for Day #7, I have some Disney Planning News...

I have booked the Tomorrowland Terrace Firework Dessert Party for my DH's birthday for Feb 8th. :bday: I am not going to tell him about this surprise... can't wait!! :woohoo:
Also I have completed our on-line check in... yahoo! I was unfortunately not allowed to request any special request (like being close to transportation) but oh well. Hopefully we will get a good location pixiedust:
21 more days!!

Day #7 - Feb 6/13 - Animal Kingdom Day

IMG_2082_zps4112a081.jpg

My family loves animals (hence staying at AKLV) so we really enjoy this park. Feb 6 is EMH, so we are hoping to make rope drop in the morning and ride EE.

ee_zps0b1b7643.jpg

We will probably ride this ride a few times, then go to the safari. After the safari we will be having a semi late breakfast at Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House. We absolutely love it here. We have made a point to come here on every trip. YUMMMM!

Disney2009244_zps1528acf2.jpg

Disney2009245_zpsaf27b2e2.jpg

After breakfast we may ride the safari again if the kids want to and/or if there is not a long line. We will go through the trails to look at the animals and go back through Rafiki's Planet Watch.

When we are done with our animal fix for a little while we will go through the Dinoland USA, go on Dinosaur, Triceratop spin and let the kids play in the boneyard for a little while.

We will have to go to the It's Tough to be a Bug, I absolutely love this show. Makes me laugh every time when everyone screams when they get stung. :rotfl:

We will want to watch the parade, it's one of our favourites in WDW.

AK closes at 5pm today so then I think we will head to another park. At this point I am not sure which one though. Depends if the kids would like to ride TSM, ToT and RnRc. Or if they would like to head to MK for the first time on our trip. It will be up to the kids!

Plans for next day????

We went to the Dessert Party and loved it. I think your family will too. We also went to AM EMH at Animal Kingdom for the first time last trip. It was awesome. It opened at 7:00( it was Memorial Day). We actually got in at 6:45. We were able to ride everything including EE 9 times by 9:00. It was crazy to be finished so early and headed back to our resort for breakfast.

I really hope my family will love it. I think they will but.... depends on what mood my DH is in. He loves fireworks though so I think it will be a hit. Glad you enjoyed it, makes me so excited to surprise them with this.

9 times.... wow how cool!!! I love being able to ride rides multiple times because of low wait times. I hope it will be the same for us this time.

Day #8 - Feb 7/13 - Park hopping day!

Today is a Park hopping day! We will be starting off at Magic Kingdom (first day, unless we go after AK on Day #7) with the EMH. I love MK in the morning with EMH. We tend to be able to complete a whole section and ride everything a few times before the park is open to the public.

DisneyandCruise2011125_zpsef2033ce.jpg

We will start by going to Peter Pan first, ride, get fastpasses then maybe ride again. After that we will check out the new Fantasyland if open do the attraction with Belle, then go on the Little Mermaid ride.

When we are finished exploring the new Fantasyland we will head to our family's all time favourite ride.

Haunted Mansion

DisneyandCruise2011165_zps77540b82.jpg

**love looking at these old pictures, they make me laugh. We had such a good time last time we went**

After Haunted Mansion, it will be BTMRR, Pirates OTC, Flying Carpets and Jungle Cruise.

We have lunch planned at another park, so time to "hop" over.

We are having lunch here:

remy_zpsd7347fc0.jpg

Le Chef's de France! We have never been here, but the menu sounds awesome. I am hoping my kids will speak french here as well, since they are bilingual.

After lunch, we will do a few things in Epcot and then "hop" over to another park. Probably back to MK since my kids love it so much. I would also like to see the Electrical Parade and it's the only day that we are at the parks that it is running.

The rest of the day we will be playing it by ear. No concrete plans.. :hippie:

Next day will be a great day...

Day #9 - MK Day

Today is my DH's birthday. Therefore I am going to let him choose where he would like to go for breakfast. Maybe Captain's Cooke at Poly. Then we will head to MK. We will go to the other side of the park today and start with Tomorrowland. We will watch Monster's Inc, go on Buzz's ride, maybe the peoplemover (since I have never been on this ride.. I know crazy :scared1:). We will definitely go on Space Mountain (maybe a few times).

I was hoping we can do the Family Magic Tour as well. I will ask the concierge at AKL to see if we can get in this day. I think it will be so fun and another nice surprise for the kids.

We will have supper at:

Be Our Guest. :woohoo: Can't wait!

After supper we will ride a few rides then it will be time for the:

fdp1_zps3dc94c3c.jpg

I hope my DH and kids will like this surprise I have for them. I thought it would be an easier and funner way then buying a cake for my DH's birthday. :bday:

After the fireworks the park is still open 2 more hours, so if everyone is still up to it we will go on a few more rides. Today is our last day in the parks so we might as well take advantage of the hours.

Next up... last full day at WDW

Day #10 - Last Day at WDW

Today we will sleep in to be rested to go back to the real world tomorrow..:(

We don't have any real plans, except to pack and then maybe go to DTD to pick up anything we haven't yet.

I think we will just relax and hang around the resort for the day and enjoy the things the AKL offer. Hopefully the weather will be nice and we can watch the kids play in the splash park at the resort.

The only plans we have is supper at Kona Cafe. We have never been here before, but wanted to try somewhere new. Hopefully it won't disappoint.

kona_zps16935925.jpg

That is about all we have planned, sorry not so exciting. If on any of our "relaxing" days the weather will be great we may go to the water park and check it out. We have never been to any of them so maybe this year will be the year. Fingers crossed for good warm weather, it doesn't have to be hot, just warm and not windy. :tink: pixie dust

We will be going to bed early because the ME will be picking us up at 8am and if we have any QS credits left we will be going to Mara for breakfast before ME comes. Then that is it for Day #11 - Departure day. Boo... cry..

We should be home around 5pm if no big snow storm hits while we are gone. Hopefully the kids will be able to go to bed early to be rested for school the next day. Back to reality.. :sad1: What makes it more sad is that we have no other plans to come back in the near future. :scared1: Oh well... I will just keep saying to myself ..."One day..."

Thanks for reading along. I will have a couple more updates before we leave... 11 more days!!! :cool1:

We are going to be hopping all around each other and just missing each other! Actually, it looks like Friday night when you are at the dessert party, Savannah & I will be hopping over for our last evening at MK too! Your plans sound GREAT, I hope you guys have a fabulous time! Can you believe we're down to 2 weeks now?!?!? :cool1:

Lol...well if you see us say Hi! We are shy and a quiet family too, so don't worry. :)

Today I am doing the single digit dance!! 9 Days!! Yahoo!!

Ok, I am totally going to take you up on that. If I see you, I will say hi! I have never actually had a DISmeet, so you would be my first! ;) In fact, I usually go out of my way to avoid them! I remember my first trip seeing a lime green mickeyhead on someone's bag and not saying a word...what are you supposed to do, just walk up to someone and say HEY DISER! :scared:

I totally agree! That is why I haven't printed out my lime green Mickey yet, because I am nervous about the attention it may bring and/or it might make me look like a snob if I don't stop and say HI to other people with it. Lol. Confused if I should or not???

:cool1:

I am so excited... I haven't packed yet, but have been getting a few other things done. I have picked up some snack and breakfast items that we are taking, some meds for just in case and a few other items that we are taking. We have been cleaning the house to make sure everything is in order and ensure we have the dog and cat food needed for my house and pet sitter.

I also got my nails done... :hyper:

I think she did a great job.

Well... I work for the next two days and then I am off on vacation! :cool1: Then I will pack and get our last min things done.

I can't wait until I can tell this secret to the kids, I think this has been one of the hardest things I have done. I am not good at keeping secrets especially ones that I am super excited about. :woohoo::banana:

I LOVE your nails! I usually try to do it myself (cheap and we live in an area with no good salons) but they never look good like that!

WHEN will you tell the kids? How will you keep them from seeing the packing/suitcases?!??! I cannot wait to hear all about their reaction! I'm going to have to wait until forever to hear all about it!

pixiedust: HAPPY 4 DAYS!!!!! pixiedust:

Thank you! I thought they turned out pretty good. I got a gift card for Christmas, that's why I went. :)

We have decided not to tell the kids until the Thursday morning (the morning we leave). I think that is the best. If we tell them the night before they will not sleep at all then they will become cranky and we don't want that to happen.

My DH already pulled the luggage into our bedroom and they asked why it was there and he said he was cleaning out the closet under the stairs. Lol.. It worked.

I will try to post the video but not sure if I know how, but I will work on it. :)

Yahoo!!! 4 days!! Happy single digit day!

Tomorrow is the day!!! :cool1:pixiedust:

photo2_zpse6b35406.jpg

I can not wait to tell the kids. It has been so hard to keep the secret!

I am finally packed, just have to add a few last minute things and we are good to go.

These are the tshirts I got made. We have wrapped up the kids ones to surprise them with tomorrow.

photo4_zpscacf9788.jpg

Thanks for following along. For those of you that are going soon too, have a great trip and I can not wait to hear all about it when I get home.
