PTR August 2012! (almost there!!)

I just saw the sundresses comment and had to chime in! haha i wear dresses everyday and almost every one has come from Ross, TJMaxx, or Marshalls! I swear you cannot beat the prices!!!:cool1:

I don't have a Ross or TJMaxx, but I love Marshall's! Thanks for the recommendation! :thumbsup2 I haven't gone there to look for sundresses yet, but they are my go to place for shoes :goodvibes

Joining in! Sounds like fun! My mom and I are going in a couple weeks!

Oh, and about the dresses, I LOVE Old Navy dresses! I just bought 5 over the weekend, and I am planning on wearing them all in the parks! I have the problem with chafing as well, but I bought some Rebok compression shorts-very comfy, not too tight or restricting, and they work perfectly to solve that problem!

OMG I LOVE THOSE TEE SHIRTS!!!!! I need to get them for my DBF and I! :rotfl: I'm sure he'd humor me and wear it, though he probably wouldn't love it! :rotfl:

Your plans look great so far! I am a big stressor too, so I feel your pain! :lmao:

Oooh, very cool camera too! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I love having some readers :goodvibes

I really have to try these shorts, I love wearing dresses, but in the hot summer months, it gets to be too much! If they help with chafing I'm in :thumbsup2

I know, aren't they are the cutest!

And I'm glad I'm not the only one! Thanks for joining in :cool1:

I FINALLY got my Reefs in the mail! They are oh so comfortable, I can't believe I haven't gotten a pair earlier. I settled on the Reef Slap and I picked up an early birthday gift for my DBF, the Reef Fanning, so that he can wear them and get used to them by the time we go. Really good purchase :thumbsup2

I have always kept my hair pretty short, pixie cut, bobs, etc (like OP)... so since booking Disney I have been growing my hair out so that I could wear it up when it would be so hot out. I know that I'm crazy, I change a whole hairstyle for my Disney trip! :rotfl: Anyways...I'm looking for cute hairstyles to keep my hair off of my face, something more than just a simple ponytail, especially on the dinner date nights. I love wearing my hair in a low side ponytail and I love headbands of all kinds, but that's about as differentiated as I get!

I would love to be able to do some of these hairstyles...but I have not been blessed with the great braiding skills gene! I'm practicing though ;)

My hair is not nearly as long, maybe shoulder length.. but I love these... (on a side note, someone at work told me about Mane 'n' Tail, helps with hair growth, anybody try this shampoo?)

How do you branch out of the box? Do you do any hairstyles that are practical for FL AND really cute?

I was just planning on wearing my hair in a ponytail the whole time. But I LOVE  this hairstyle! Any ideas on how to do this?

Hey! Just joining here, but I love reading your PTR. I'm going to disney in September with my boyfriend and I just bought him one of these cameras also, mostly for that trip! I love it so much, he uses it all the time already! I'm making sure we bring extra SD cards in case we fill one up while we're there, so we can just switch it out!

I don't...but they have really great tutorials on youtube (ie hairgirl247 and sunnysideup11100 channels) for french braids, dutch braids, styles like this, etc... it looks like it's a few french braids and then just pinned in the back. I love it, I wish I could do it! I told DBF to learn to braid my hair so that he can do it each morning before the park :rotfl:

:welcome: Thanks for reading! Those cameras are seriously great! It's so perfect for a trip like Disney! Can't wait to take videos on the rides! :goodvibes

i looove that hairstyle on scarlett! I usually do the same thing but my bangs never turn out well. (i was NOT blessed with hair styling skills :lmao:....) so this is the style i usually go with in the parks!

I was going to say- that's pretty talented for someone who claims they don't have hairstyling talent! But then I read underneath!

I love that hairstyle too on Scarlet, but same problem can never get my bangs right :confused3

I LOVE  this hairdo!!! Is it just a french braid top and then a basic tucked pony in the back?? How do you get the braid to stay as you get the rest of the hair up! I'd love to try it out... My hair is SO thick and just pulling it back does not keep all of the wispy pieces in. It's easier to do some braids or use some bobby pins. But I love this idea!

Beauty Day :goodvibes

Face mask, Housewives oh my!

After a long, long, LONG last week of school- I needed some rest and relaxation!

With breaks in between to catch up on Real Housewives of NJ and OC popcorn::, I did a chocolate face mask ($2 at Target) FINALLY tried out my St. Tropez self-tanner mousse, and am practicing these braided hairstyles and making it a beauty day (all in the name of "research" for vacation!) :thumbsup2

After getting those comments about those hairstyles and seeing yours, I think we just may be the most stylish girls in WDW after we've perfected them! :cutie:

Anyway as suggested by another Diser I tried the St. Tropez tanning mousse-after buying it, letting it sit for weeks out of fear of using the stuff, I finally caved! I do NOT (read: fearful of) spray tan or go tanning, so you could see my apprehension! SUPER easy to apply! Just needed a mitt that you could buy with the bronzer and a makeup sponge to apply to face. I have been gifted with Irish and German genes, which means pale skin all year long :sad2:! So this is great, because it doesn't look so unnatural compared to my skin tone. I need to wait my four hours before showering, but seems good so far. It dries almost as quickly as it's applied so you can pretty much see how it'll turn out!

St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse turned out great! :thumbsup2 Recommend it!

Great!! :) I'll definitely be trying this out! Thanks!

What we always do to my hair is brush everything on top back and braid the whole top first and then stick TONS of bobby pins and clips to the end of the braid once you've done the whole top of your head and it should stay while you have time to stick the rest up in a cute pony/bun and even when your hair is all up i would recommend keeping a few of the bobby pins/clips in so that the braid stays.. oh and LOTS of hairspray works too :) especially if you're going in august heat hahaha :goodvibes

I cannot hold my excitement - 8 weeks! :cool1:

I have started to actually put together all of my little trip purchases :hyper:-

I don't think you can see this in there, but if I haven't mentioned this before- TUMS! TUMS! TUMS! Best thing to take with you on the DDP! I think I gained 10 lbs. after a week in Disney in 2009 and frequent stomach aches eating all that rich food that many times a day, without being used to it! This time, lots, LOTS of water, not just for the heat, but to keep that weight off with all that walking- cross my fingers! I'll try to keep my rice krispie, German pretzel, Mickey bar intake at a minimum- actually, I CAN'T make any such promise! :)

Rain Rain Go Away

I still need some rain gear...ponchos! I have never been to Disney with lots of rain, so I am pretty amateur about planning for this. Is it necessary to bring an umbrella as well as ponchos? I read to get some ziplocs/plastic bags to store ponchos in your purse and bring several ponchos for each of us, so I think I can manage that.

First Night Festivities :drinking1

What are your thoughts on this? DBF asked when we would be able to try out Jelly Rolls, which I hear is pretty fun. I was going to stay at DTD our first night, since our dinner reservation is at 7 pm- but think maybe we'll hop over there for Jelly Rolls. Is it worth it to stick around at night at DTD and save the boardwalk for a later night in the week, is there any nightlife, is DisneyQuest something that a 27 y/o and 26 y/o will be into? I don't want to spend a lot of money for us to get in if we could use it for drinks and souvenirs if it's not worth it :confused3

This trip has been a year in the making and I feel like it's just around the corner!! Crazy how times flies :goodvibes

Since I have a. an autograph book from when I was little already filled and b. a passport from said time that is already filled, I have been dabbling in the idea of doing one of these together with DBF since he NEVER did either when he went as a child :scared1: I know, I don't understand it either! Actually, DBF didn't even know WS existed until our 2009 trip as adults- which explains why he never liked Epcot (take a guess at his favorite park now! ;))

Anyway- what are your thoughts on this :scratchin- I'm leaning more toward the passport since we really love WS - I know there are threads on this topic, but is it awkward for two adults to be doing a passport and taking pictures with the characters? There are people who just don't get it and then there are adults that just don't care and do it anyway! I fall in the middle and can get pretty self-conscious about this type of thing! :rolleyes2Plus, DBF has mentioned that he'd feel kind of silly getting in line in front of a child wanting his Passport stamped!

Hahaha Oh I'm going to be going ALL out when we go :) I'm trying to be really good to and lose weight now so that I won't have to worry about eating tons while i'm there

As for rain, We'll be bringing 2 ponchos each i believe - we've never needed umbrellas... they're kind of just a big pain when trying to manoeuvre around a lot of people without anyone getting hurt! I also recently bought this new lululemon running jacket with a hood - its super light (way lighter than the ponchos) so i'm going to try that out too because I sweat like a dog under those awful ponchos, they're just too heavy!

I'm following along. Love everything so far. I have kids who will be doing the passports and autograph books but I would do it even if I didnt have them. lol. Disney is all about being a kid again.
