PTN Dining Packages

Does anyone know of Aladdin's Oasis accommodates people for food restrictions? I'm vegan and there doesn't seem to be anything on the menu I can eat.

We did the Blue Bayou package on Friday night and Aladdin's Oasis Saturday night.

We got really lucky with Blue Bayou. Since the packages were added so late in the game and they hadn't kept openings back to offer, there weren't many packages sold. We had a 4:40 ADR but checked in at 4 and were seated almost right away. When we got to the viewing area, I chatted with the CM there. He worked the area previously. He said they typically have a couple hundred people there but were only expecting around 60 that night. Not sure what happened but there were only around 15 people there for that showing. That made for a remarkable experience. Not sure how I would feel about 200 people there.

We were first into the Aladdin's Oasis section and chose spots over near the end next to the rope by the VIP chairs. That area really did fill up and we felt pretty squished. I'm guessing there was more space elsewhere in the section, but I have no idea.

We really enjoyed actually eating the box meals that afternoon. The park was crazy busy, and it was great to duck into the seating area with all that space to eat. There was maybe one other group in there at the same time. It was SO peaceful to escape the crowds that way!

We have a 440 ressie at Blue Bayou for a 6 pm parade. Figure that will be cutting it very close- but was the only time they had. Will try showing up at 4 like you did, and keep our fingers crossed!

We stopped by on Wednesday and asked the people at the counter if they thought we could be seated early on Friday. They said they weren't offering PTN packages. LOL. I begged to differ. ;) But I knew they can be a little persnickety about early seatings and was curious to know if it would be worth our time.

When we showed up at 4 that day, there were people everywhere waiting to be seated, so I was surprised when they called our names a few minutes later. It worked out great. But as I said, they didn't have that many PTN guests that night, so it probably wasn't hard to prioritize them. They had menus on the counter and were offering the upgrade to other customers.

Yeah, navigating that space is a bit confusing. When we got there, we walked all the way to the end of the reserved area, then went down some stairs to the street level and started walking back toward the entrance and found that there was a good amount of space down there, maybe in part because people didn't know how to get down there.

That doesn't surprise me at all. I just liked that particular area to photograph the parade from so stayed. Thankfully I had told my daughter to spread our things out a bit to keep everyone from squeezing in too closely around us.

When I did the package in May I indicated on the online form that I am gluten-free. They had two options for me when I showed up. Disney is usually very good with allergies -- I'm sure if you call the reservation line you could find out for sure.

Does anybody know whether or not AP discounts work with the PTN packages? I got mixed messages from the forums so wanted to see if anybody has tried recently.

After reading this I am tempted to get the package for the day we want to see the parade. Our plan is to see it on Dec 3. I don't really like waiting hours for parades, so a $23 dinner seems decently worth it. There are still a lot of packages available for that day. I'm wondering if it's because the parade is late or because of the candlelight processional. Do you think it is worth it for that day, or do you think the distraction of the CP and a late parade will give us a chance to get decent seats without it? Thats the first day we arrive and were planning on hitting up Earl of Sandwich around 2/230 ish before getting into the parks (my favorite Disney meal) but if the latest time we can get the PTN meal is 430 then I may have to change our plans...

My understanding is that Aladdins Oasis PTN is usually easy to get. According to the CMs you can usually walk in same day and get it, although you could not on 9/5.

Usually the reservations go much later than 4:30, but there is only one show that day due to CP as you mentioned, so they probably only have half the usual number of packages available.

Typically the second show is much easier to find Seats than the first show, but since there's only one parade that day I would assume it will be busier. I dont really know though.

We did Aladdin's Oasis for the second PTN on Friday. They were still selling the package to walk-ups when we picked up our dinner at 6. (We actually took our dinners back to our hotel room - gave us a nice break and a chance to get some warmer wear for the evening.) The viewing area literally is facing "iasw" -- it's where the northbound parade makes a hard-right turn before heading offstage. I'd be surprised if there were more a dozen or so people watching the parade from the reserved-section's street level, and we opted for the first-tier terrace, giving us lots of freedom to move around and get different angles for pictures. Eventually, a few other guests moved into the top-tier terrace behind us. I thought maybe the lack of an advance announcement (e.g., Parks Blog) or any in-park promotional material might have kept interest in the dinner package low.

Thanks Mom 2rtk, Disney Dad ADL and ericopia!

I am excited to do this and think the $22.99 per meal is worth it. This is my hubby and my first trip to DL without kids, and he is NOT a crowd person, so this is going to be a nice way to view the parade with limited stress.

SO - explain to me these tiered viewing areas. We won't be taking pictures, but may like to sit on a curb or ledge - or we can sit until the parade starts and stand. I am trying to get a good strategy, and it sounds like from Disney Dad we need to walk down a ways? Hard to picture before we get there, but I want to make the best of it.

Thanks for your feedback !!

Yeah, it's hard to describe.

This is a picture I found from DLR Prepschool.

I am not sure if this is the exact spot, but it looks similar (its bigger and wraps around a corner).

The area actually extends to the street level and includes that brick area on the floor, as well as an additional tier or two higher in the back.

Imagine you are standing where the parade runs looking at the area. The entrance to the area would be over on the left. When you first go in, you go up a set of stairs and end up on that first level. You can see because of the fence, you can't get to street level initially. If you want to get to the street, you have to walk all the way to the right (there's only on direction you can go). At the end, there are stairs that go down to the street (I don't see them in the picture). Then you head back towards the entrance (which would be left in this picture).

The general set up on the street level was one row of people on the ground right up against the rope. A second row of people sits on that ledge in front of that fence (which is where we sat). There is a bit of space in between the rows so people can walk through, at least initially. You can see there is no curb, so front row means sitting on the ground.

Hope that makes sense.

what did they offer, since I have the same marked?

We have this booked for the early parade 12/2. In not sure our 4 yr old will last til the 1030/1045 show. Figured this is a good way to see it without spending a ton of time waiting.

Thank you for the seating info!!

How have the crowds been for the PTN parade in general? Is it "necessary" to get a package to get a decent view?

Here's a photo from the Blue Bayou viewing area just a few minutes before the parade arrived for the first showing of PTN's return. We got lucky being at that first showing. The CM in the area said they normally have around 200, but I counted less than 15. They had not saved back inventory to sell the packages. It made for an incredible experience.

They only had one GF option this time -- the chicken breast with green beans and salad. They gave me a GF roll and had two choices for dessert (GF choc chip cookie or GF brownie -- I chose brownie and it was quite good).

Thank you so much Disney Dad ADL - that really helps!!

An update: I just came home from watching PTN today (Sunday 11/27) at the Aladdins Oasis area. It appears different from before. The area is significantly smaller, I would say maybe half the size. It used to start across from Small World and wrap around the corner, but now it is just the area facing IASW.

The directions I gave before are no longer accurate. You can basically go directly to the street level now from the entrance.

We arrived at 5:30 pm for the 6:30 show. There were probably 10 people or so ahead of us. The opened up the area immediately after the 6:00 pm Small World clock show thingy ended. We decided to sit in the front row this time.
