Pteranadon Flyer question

We are going to IOA next week...I have been to the park twice before but with no children. We always thought the Flyers looked really cool but heard you hadto go on with a child.

This time we are taking our 10yo boys..who I think would love it but if I read this right, you can only go on with a child that is 46" or less?? My son is tall for his age...he is 5ft. My friends son is 55"..so neither can go on again? Darn...I really want to ride that ride! haha

Also..we never saw the Camp Jurassic..is this right next to the flyers? Is there a lot to do there and will 10yo boys like this area or is it more geared towards a younger age?

If you go first thing when the park opens and it's not too busy they will let all of you ride on the Flyers. We went with our 4 kids (only 2 are within the height requirements) and my sister and BIL and they let us all ride. My 9yo (55" and still within the height requirements I think) rode 3 times with various people since nobody else was there. This was early last week during a busy spring break week. Just make sure you get there early!

Camp Jurassic is terrific. There's plenty to do and it seems to appeal most to the sub-teen set (although you'll see kids of all ages enjoying themselves there). The elevated track of Pteranodon Flyers runs around the perimeter of Camp Jurassic.

My only warning about Pteranodon is that if your child gets scared on the ride he or she can't cuddle up to mom or dad because the two seats are very separate. So make sure your kid can handle the height and the mild swoops of the ride.

Pternanodon Flyers has a height restriction of 36" to 56". You must be accompanied by a child between those heights.

If you don't have a child and are too tall for the ride, you can still ride Pternanodon Flyers first thing in the morning and if no one is in the queue. When the park opens, head all the way back to Jurassic Park. Do not stop at Spiderman or the Hulk. The islands beyond Marvel Super Hero Island and Seuss Landing will seem deserted.

I went to IOA on a COLD Jan day and went into Camp Jurrasic and asked the gentleman VERY nicely if we could ride. He turned us down at first, then allowed us. Unfortunatly we could not ride as the line was longer than we wanted to wait and people kept "butting" in front of us There is always someone holding a place...so we left, but thanked the man who let us go. So if you ask and its not very busy, they may let you

Last summer in the middle of the afternoon, we saw lots of grown-ups riding this ride with no children. It must really depend on who is running the ride at the time.

We went on PF first thing in the morning and were allowed on without a question. It was just my husband & myself. We did this two mornings in a row. The first day we rode 2x's in a row and the second day 3x's. It is an awesome ride. A lot cooler than I thought it would be.

You have to get to the park when it opens and head straight to PF. You won't regret it!!!

Or, in many cases, when the back of the park opens up. When it's the slow times, they open up that part of IOA at 10 am, and you wont be able to get past the person(s) standing on the bridge area (or wherever they're stationed). After that, you can make the beeline for P-Flyers.

My family and I were there in early February and everyone was allowed to ride on the Flyers.

My DS who was 12 but is very big for his age was classed as an adult,so we couldn't both go on

We had to wait awhile until someone kindly let him ride with their child!
