On our next trip we will be using the DreamMaker Gold
package and want to take full advantage of the restaurants.
I have planned our meals and want to make PS.

BUT... My DH thinks my meal plan is too rigid and wants to know what happens if you make a PS and then end up at an attraction.
Is there any penalty for missing a PS (other than you may not get a seat when or if you do finally arrive)? Is it insane to make PS for every meal (too rigid a schedule)?

All our meals are planned at restaurants in the Parks we will be in that particular day so it wouldn't be a problem with travelling there more so if we end up doing something too close to the PS.

Here's my experience with Disney's Grand Plan -- my DW and I ended up being driven by our PS plan. By the 3rd day we were about to go nuts because everything was did was based on where the next meal was going to be. We ended up leaving a backstage tour because we were afraid it would run too long and cut off our PS!

If I did it again, I'd make PS's ONLY at those places I really had my heart set on eating at. Everything else, I'd play by ear. Sometimes it may actually be FUN to sit and wait on a table -- think of how grateful your tired feet will be!!!

Having a PS is great, unless you let it take over your vacation (which we did). You need to be in control. The packages are wonderful -- we had some tremendous meals at places we'd never been to before. But if we do it again, it will be a LOT different.

Thanks for the info.
We did the Deluxe plan last time but didn't overly
go nuts with the dinner Ressies.
PS's are different than Ressies and was just wondering of we got into the same situation as you encountered with Backstage tour -what would happen if we just didn't show for a PS.

It would be nice to know you had a PS but don't want to absolutely have to go.

From my experience, nothing happens if you are a no-show for a PS unless they have taken credit card info when you make the ressie. We were a no-show for Chef Mickey's this last trip--it was storming and we were trapped in the motorhome. Tried to call but couldn't get the cellphone to work, either.

I always try to call before if I can't make it so someone else can have the fun.

I really don't like PS much, though. I feel a little trapped having to be somewhere at a certain time. That's just me, though.

We've missed some PS while at Disney and never had a problem. It's not like they hunt you down and spank your hand :jester:
