Psa

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I hope your family is able to find some peace through the memories you have of your son.

I am soo sorry that your family is having to go through this loss.
May God keep you close.
Prayers and thoughts go with you .

Op here- just an FYI I changed my atvitar to my son pic the last time we were at Disney. This is Carlton, my silly, lovable, goofball, who I miss dearly.

Before he left for boot camp he told me that if anything happened to him he wanted his life insurance policy to go towards buying our family a DVC membership, as he loved Disney so much! So in his memory we will be purchasing a 300 point DVC. I think it is so touching that years from now his niece's and nephew's can to WDW because of their uncle.

Thanks for all the prayers it really does help!
Thanks for sharing Carlton's photo, Tami, a handsome young man. And what a wonderful idea on his part, a lasting legacy for all his loved ones, to share in one of his joys. Again, God bless.

My heart is hurting for you and your family. Please know I am praying for you. What a wonderful, kind, beautiful suggestion you son wanted you to do purchasing DVC points. As you said his legacy and love of Disney will go on forever.

I just wanted to say thank you again to everyone. I pasted a copy of his obit just to let everyone know what a great son I have!

That was beautiful.

Thanks so much for sharing it with us.

I have a son exactly this age and my heart is just broken for you. I am so, so very sorry :sad1::sad1:

What a lovely tribute to your son - the reference to "goofiness" was particularly touching to me, as I believe the world needs as much goofiness as it can get.

Godspeed, Carlton. My continued prayers to your family for peace and comfort.

Saying a special prayer for you and your family. I lost a cousin in the Armed Forces in exactly the same way. I am so sorry!

He sounds like a wonderful young man. And a fun loving one also from his picture. I'm sure he brought a lot of joy and pride to your world.

You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

It was a year ago today my son passed away. I just wanted to give everyone a little update. I want to tell you I have learned so many things from my son's passing ! First and foremost: I have learned who my real friends are and that I have an amazing family! I have learned to let go of people and things that are just mentally draining! I have learned to do things that scare the crap out of me! And mostly I have learned that I am stronger then ever thought I could be!

My DH is still an anti- depressants and unfortunately so is dd 17, however; they are coping. My DH and kids are in counseling too and coming to terms with his death. I haven't sought counseling yet as I am just not ready!

I never thought I could get through my son's death but I did! Our lives will never be the same but we have made it t other side!

Thanks to everyone for the support and prayers for my family!:)

Great to hear from you, heartsy.

These "anniversaries" are always hard, but sounds like you and your family are slowly healing and coping. And remembering.

Best wishes to you all in your continued progress.

Hugs to you. I am so glad you are getting through this and taking it as a learning opportunity. I usually have to think that, in a way, they are being saved from something worse here, when they are taken so young.

You never know what people are going through so it's never good to judge. Just be kind. Not every day will be the same so keep looking up:)
