Consumer Reports has put together a video to show how to stop your out-of-control car that has accelerator problems. this is easpecially important if you have a car recalled or not recalled by Toyota, because. . . well, you won't know till it happens. 
You think you should turn off the ignition? NO! You'll lose the power steering.
There is also a problem if you pump the brakes.
You might also lock up your power brakes and lose them completely.
This video does give some proper tips on what to do.
WATCH THIS VIDEO! Then practice, Practice, PRACTICE the steps ahead of time. You don't want to be trying to remember what to do if this happens.
