PSA- scam warning - FBI

I received an email warning supposedly from the FBI about some "illegal" websites I was visiting. They were wanting information. I deleted it, but I thought you all should know another scam is out there.

I got several from them, as well as the "CIA". This was last week.

I got the same emails. One from the "FBI", the other from the "CIA". They want you to click on a link to confirm websites visited. I just deleted them also. It's amazing what people come up with.

I got a phishing email yesterday from Chase Bank. It was pretty well done. However, we don't have an account at Chase Bank. It actually asked for ID, password, bank account number, credit card number, social security number, debit card number and password. Scary stuff!!!

Yep, I've heard this is a virus/scam, but not received the email yet.

Not too long ago I got a very authentic looking email from Verizon asking for payment information or our service would be cut off. I called Verizon immediately and they told me they would never ask for payment info via email. So there's another one you have to worry about.

Every teacher in my district got the FBI one and the CIA one right around the same time. Great...

I'm very happy with my yahoo mail, they've been good at telling these are phishing emails, and a good 95% of the time, they go right into my bulk folder.

Then again, when I first started using the account, it would send all my 'reply to post' emails from the DIS, too. I guess that would happen when I was getting that many emails from one place, lol.
