I just tried. :rolleyes1

However, on the bright side, I've invented Omlette Soup! :thumbsup2

Yikes!

I don't make it - or eat it - but always good information to have! ;)

Good to know! I love egg drop soup. I make it a lot since it's so easy - well, as long as you do it on the stove, anyway. ;)

I know! I was in the mood for a snack, but it had to be all protein. I looked in the cupboard and found a package of egg drop soup, so I got out the mix. . .but then I thought, well, I could load the dishwasher while I'm in here. I know! I'll make it in the microwave.

Let the bowl get to bowl, stopped the microwave, dropped the egg in. . .

It did not do the egg drop thing.

I decided to just boil that sucker and see what happened.

Well, eventually, I stirred. . .

Having finished a bowl, I can safely say that Omlette soup is very good. It's not egg drop soup, but. . .well. Yeah.:upsidedow:) It's edible.

How do you make it???????

It's pretty simple, at least the way I make it:

1 can chicken broth or chicken stock
3 eggs
1/2 a block of tofu, cut up into small squares (I'm not sure how much it actually is - I just buy it in a block and cut it into halves )
1 tbs soy sauce

-Bring chicken broth/stock to a boil on the stove, then add the tofu
-Wisk the eggs together in a bowl. Use a fork to scoop up some of the egg and drizzle it into the boiling broth a little at a time. It will cook the second it hits the boiling broth. If you try and put too much in at one time, you'll get thick chunks instead of stringy pieces.
-After all the egg is added, put in the soy sauce.. again, I'm not sure how much soy sauce I use, I just kind of dump some in according to my taste. But 1 tbs would probably be okay to start, and then you can adjust it according to how you like it. :thumbsup2

You can add other veggies to it - water chestnuts, carrots, celery, etc. I just prefer mine plain with tofu.

I make mine even simpler than Ashley. I buy a package of egg drop soup at the market. :thumbsup2

Eww. Can it even be referred to as a soup when it's an omlette?

Well. . .it tastes like an omlette mixed with chicken stock.

It's thick and full of teensy, itsy egg bits that cooked.
