I have gotten into the habit of shoving my Kindle into my purse every time I leave the house. Today, I didn't get it securely into my purse, and as I went out the back door, my Kindle flipped out, bounced down the stairs, and landed in the driveway. I had it in an M-edge case, but it still scrambled the electronic ink all to heck and back.
RIP, my Kindle. With it being a holiday weekend, I can't get a replacement until Wednesday, so I'll be reading paper books this weekend. I did get extra warranty with this one, that covers drops and damage.

I'm so sorry. I am so afraid of dropping mine or one of my kids no seeing it in the car. I always have it with me and I was carrying it in a little tote back and forth to work. But the kids are so quick to jump in the car and toss the bag on the floor or just sit on the bag. I'm constantly yelling, "watch the kindle!" So I just purchased a Borsa Bag that has some padding and it's a bright color so the kids now know where the kindle is at all times.

But this is one of the reasons I'm waiting until the cheap "generic" versions of e-readers (like MP3 players) come out for about $50.
