PS3 vs. Wii... who wouldda thunk it?

I am still trying to get a Wii. I check in all the time at Gamestop. I'm even kinda friendly with one of the clerks. No luck. I stop in 2x a week, usually.

So, today, I was in there, and I saw "my guy".... I asked him what the deal was, why I couldn't get a Wii yet. He told me that they have been getting regular shipments, but they sell out usually within an HOUR ( they only get a few at a time )....

Then he asked me if I wanted a PS3. I said "no thanks". He laughed! He siad "Nobody wants a PS3"... They got a big shipment last week and sold ONE so far. ONE.

I have owned pretty much every system. I LOVED my PS2. I really like my 360. But I "REALLY" want a Wii, and have no desire to get a PS3. No desire at all.

Apparently, except for those early ebay nuts, nobody else wants one either!

The 360 actually sold the most consoles this Christmas season, but if there had been enough Wii's they may have!

DS got the 360 for Christmas. He has usually been a Nintendo fan but has not asked for a Wii...yet! Probably will for his b'day or Christmas. I have a friend who has been looking for a Wii for months. I would buy it for her if I ever saw one.

Yep I want a Wii too. I even convinced my son he wants one, we are waiting for the supply to catch up. I figure by March I will have one.

Target employees told me today that all Targets are supposed to be getting shipments in on the 21st!!

OK, I'm starting to get a bit nervous. I actually don't need a Wii until the last week of Feb. (that's the next time we go to the border). I figured, no problem, I would just let the hype pass by, and then casually walk into any store and pick one up. Now I'm not so sure. They are predicting that Wii's will still be out of stock through March. Last night I started actively searching for one, and could not believe that NOBODY had any in stock. Like Papa Bear said, Ebay does and so does Amazon, but no way am I going to pay that much for one.

We just got a Wii yesterday at Shopko. A friend went in today and they still had some.

We have played it all day. LMAO when the Wii boxer dude beat DH.

I have no desire to get the ps3..esp for that much money. My friend has one and I didn't really like it..besides better graphics its the same old, same old.

The Wiiiiiiiiiii...now that looks fun!!!

Playing Zelda now.... Yea...it is worth it.
I haven't really gotten into the other games.
I need to have DH help me download the "originals".

price pretty much did it for us. We love video games, but we don't love video games THAT much.

Right after the New Year DH and I saw Wii's at Target 3 days in a row... all in the mid afternoon. They were just sitting in the display case, people didn't even bother to look there so they sat there most of the day. We bought one the first day we saw them. The 2nd day we picked one up for DH's boss and the 3rd day we were just shocked that they were still getting shipments and people weren't noticing.

Check your local Target's, and don't just ask the employees, look in the case. The 2nd day we were there the employee didn't even know they had Wii's in until we asked her to get one out of the case. She was shocked.
