PS # of guests ?

I have a PS for 10 guests. Now one family has decided that they can't afford the rest. and we will be short 3 people (I fear they will change their mind at the last minute and decide they can go). Should I try to make another PS? If we show up with 7 will we have to pay for the other 3 or will we have to wait for a table that seats 7? I don't want to hold a table that I don't need in case someone else is looking for one. Any advice?

It's always hard when you are planning for other families as well.

Chances are, if you cancel the PS, they will want to join you anyways and then you feel guilty for cancelling.

I don't think there is any harm in keeping the reservation at 10 and then cancelling before you arrive. They do not charge you for no shows, unless it's something you've had to pre-pay with a credit card that has to be cancelled 48 hours without penalty, like Fantasmic Dinner Package.
